CS interior - no driver's knee pad

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Can anyone confirm if the driver knee pad that features on the M2 and M2C also comes on the CS? One of the biggest improvements to my e36 on track was attaching one of these - saved my knee from massive bruising.

Confirm. Your knee has nothing but glossy carbon fibre to rest on

Thanks for confirming. As purty as that glossy carbon is, annoying not to have some knee protection in the 'Club Spec' model. $10 AliBaba special, here we come.

Buy some volleyball or gardening knee pads and it won't matter...I use them in my Porsche...

I appreciate threads like this one, but maybe for a different reason than some. When people are complaining about no arm rest, the steering wheel is too thick or there is no knee pad on the transmission tunnel, it's a true testament as to how incredible the car is!

Joe Achllies even complains about this in his review. Says the center console creaks when his knee hits the console as there's no knee pad 🤣

Is this only a problem in RHD vehicles? I've never even thought of needing a drivers knee pad and never rest my leg on the console.

It's more an issue when you're getting on it a bit, the lateral G's bang my knee against the console, at least it did in my e36. Having the little pad cushion added seriously brought my lap times down.

Artemis' exhaustive list of differences between the Comp and CS indicate that the LHD versions are also missing the knee pad. There seems to be a few appropriate options to add one, so a minor gripe. But one wonders why... weight saving doesn't fly for this one.

I emailed Bimmer Masterpieces asking if they can do the knee pad in alcantra and red stitching and they can do it.

You are truly doing gods work! Thanks for doing that.

If they can update their website to reflect this additional option, or if there is an email address we should put orders to, that would be helpful.

In a RHD car its the clutch leg that would need to rest, so I'm guessing it matters more to them. In a LHD, you never really rest your accelerator leg.
But its likely a function of driver size, seating position and posture. In my LHD car, I've never touched my knee pad.

It's more the case that in advanced driver training they teach you to brace with your legs as a good way to stabilise driving position when not using a harness. I like the little pad on the M2C. I'll miss that.

I've never had a knee pad in a car before including an M and two M performance models (one of which was a 2 series) - I don't think I'm going to moan about lacking one here...

It doesn't sound too hard to get a good one online anyway if it's important.

I thought about this today when driving and my knee never rested against the center console even using cruise control. I'm 5' 10"
