Am I the only one who get a "boy racer" vibe from this car?

Yeah I ordered the 6spd and sold it after driving the DCT (bought that)... I guess different strokes for different folks. And I kind of like the bigger wheel.. its different then all the other cars; I even think its an option you can de-select.

Curious - doesn't the M2C have the three setting adaptive suspension?? I thought just the OG 17 and 18 M2 had the fixed passive suspension. M2CS looks so good in black!!! |

Oh yes. I grew up driving MT since the 2002/E30 days. My previous '16/'17 OG M2 and Comp have been DCT's. CS also DCT. Can't beat the smooth power delivery with DCT's and lower RPM/noise on the highway.

The CS can be really sedate and quiet if everything is set to 'comfort'. I can't wait to see what it's like > 2000km though, could be a different story....it's so hard to stop things at 4500rpm. |

Nice point, I also really like the shift drama in these DCT cars. Its gone in the M5/M8 and now the M3/M4 .. the ZF just can't give you the bangs and pops. Add to the fact I drive in the city alot.. I find 6spd just a PIA.. I feel too old to be clutching all the time. Maybe if I lived where there were more open roads or when I had to time really get out of the city I would do it but these days DCT,F1,SMG.. they win. Kudos to you guys that can still do the 6psd thing in the city, I have an older 360Spider in 6spd (gated) that I will probably keep forever gives me enough of the rowing when I need it. Take care all! Happy drifting!

Yeah, I don't ghet the complaints about the gearing. It's perfect, you have power all the time. I really don't think 300-400 rpms would make a big difference mpg wise.

What speed is this at? My F30 at 60 mph is at about 2200 RPM. Still pulls well then for moving in traffic.

Why do UK car magazines and press keep reviewing the M2CS when you can't order one in the UK and never have been able to? We received a tiny amount that were available to select customers pre-launch and then the engine was banned in the EU... so what's the point in all this marketing for UK/EU market when it's an unobtainable product. I get it that US customers watch some of this stuff too but it just seems odd.

Reviewing cars doesn't always mean that it has to do with sales or marketing. Its passion. Everyone is celebrating the last hurrah of the first generation M2 with smiles and hope for the future. I am still waiting for the Top Gear and Carfection review .

Bizarre. I'm afraid the U.K. has a pretty bleak range of cars and they're trying hard to silll look 'enthusiast'. I've a Cayman GTS 4.0 manual on order, why because it's what I desire. BMW range options:/ - Z4 nice but heavy and no MT - M2 nope 2 years - M3/4 great if I want a 1600kg ZF auto drag strip car - So many ugly cars that you have to try to like, M2 and Z4 are the only lookers My option for a small manual is .... 118i They're screwed up not having a manual M3/4 and leaving the M2 gap too long. Well in my £70k opinion anyway, money that could have gone BMWs way.
