Go figure...My M2C, also an 2018, has a lot of rattles (center console, passenger seat, passenger door, glove box), arguably more pronounced in the winter season. One of the worst car that I have owned in that respect ... even worse than my 2003 Alfa Romeo 156 .

I can confirm, the M2CS does have a digital speedo. Just press the BC button twice to display it.

You're right, now I remember, it was the M4CS that has the 7 liter pan. I remember that there was an issue with The M4 CS tune loaded on the M2C. They had to alter it for the 6.5 liter pan. I guess soon enough all the M2CS parts will be listed on Real OEM and we can find out once and for all which parts are different.

Edit: Could you check the info in your M2CS to check what BMW says is the oil capacity?

Sometimes I think the M2 would've been an even greater success if it carried the M3 badge. It's the M3 that has the legendary name, but it became legendary because of driver focused characteristics and the feeling you got while driving it. Now the M3/M4 are big, sporty, luxury, gran tourers that provide a driving experience that's nothing like E30 or E46 M3. It's the M2 that's the closest vehicle BMW currently makes to the cars that made the brand huge to enthusiast. But a lot of buyers want to say they have a M3 or M4, not a M2. Picture the M2C and M2CS with all the color options of the M3/4, upgraded interiors to include a HUD and a M3 or M3CS badge.

The M2 will go down as a legendary car, but if it was actually the M3, it would be insanely popular.

I do agree the clutch feels a little light and "springy"...when I drive my F30 335 back to back with my OG, I prefer the weight and more linear feel of the F30 clutch.
James has a Miata. The manual on these cars is exceptional.

Only 10k miles on my 2020 but the only rattles I get are things bouncing around in the door pockets, console, etc. With them empty, it's still pretty tight with the exception of some suspension noise coming thru.

It's amazing how many people are in Charlotte, and so few M2s are running around. Outside of the dealership I've seen one MB and BSM. There was once an SO M2 at Hendrick. It's the color that makes me jealous.

40 years before , someone with a brand new E30 M3 told the same thing about a 2002 or E9. 40 yrs later in 2020 , we are saying that the M3 has the name , but the M2 has the character. 40 yrs later , and not even , i bet in just 10yrs , when the 3rd gen M2 will be about to be released , the M2 will be already a legend , especially the first generation. Its always the case with the first gen , because people will see where the M2 came from , and they will look back at F87 .

Even with the same pan as the M2C, a larger oil cooler with higher caliber lines to provide more flow could easily add 0.5 liters to the capacity.

Is it just me or does the car appear to sit higher in the back than an M3 CS. There is an annoying gap between the wheel and the wheel arches

Perhaps, in any case it won't be long before REALOEM will put all of the conjecture to rest.

Brand new it's max wheel gap (even with the shipping/transport blocks removed).

The car 'settles' after a while all by itself (a bit lower - reduced wheel gap).

Take pictures at delivery and do the same later, and you'll notice the difference.

I'm pretty sure that you are correct. Apparently there is a slight difference in the shape of the oil pan of the M4 Comp. I doubt that the oil pan in the M2CS is different than the one in the M2C though.
There is a diff between the M3/4 Comp (6.5 liters) and M3/4 CS (7 liters) and I think that the M2 CS has the same oil capacity than M3/4 CS.
Where's the BMW documentation to support your claim?

Update:

IIRC, BMW technical docs point out that the M2 CS lump is lifted from the M3/4 Competition, but the former has a larger oil capacity at 7L as you half correctly stated. M3/4 Competition and its CS brethren hold 6.5L of engine oil.

The M3/4 CS, however, is assured an ample supply of oil at longitudinal and lateral forces of up to 1.4g coupled with a return of the magnesium oil sump which was replaced with an aluminum part very early on in the F8X production cycle for reasons unknown.
