he stood out in the middle of the desert and saw a city of lights and casinos. Everyone else thought he was mad. All the naysayers and reviewers keep harping on about why it's not worth extra £25k because M2C is so much better than M2OG, and almost as good as the M2CS. It's like saying, "I almost live in Beverly Hills"!! And yet, when somebody pays $50m for a vintage Ferrari, nobody bats an eyelid even though there are much better Ferraris around today. It seems people have no passion, no imagination, no foresight anymore. Everything is judged by Clicks. When people pay $3,000 for a pair of runners, it's a win, when they pay extra money for a CS, IT'S MADNESS. Go figure!!

It does though. It causes the intake flap to be open, which increases induction noise. Ask me how I know.

Add in the diffuser, the duck spoiler, front splitter, the springs, the hood, the paintjob, the remus exhaust, the wheels... that was one thing that drove me nuts in the video...there was no way that it was only a 10k add like claimed in the video. That car as it was rolling was CS money or more. Crazy beautiful too, I LOVE that blue.
I mean a dirt cheap re-spray of a car is around 7k minimum, and 15k if you want a decent one. I just did a respray on my E36, and penny pinching, working with a shop, doing prep work myself, stripping the car of parts and delivering it largely disassembled, and all the nine yards I got it down to around 6k and still skipped a few panels that were in good shape and didn't spray into door jambs and etc like you'd need for a color change.

The hood, the paint, the exhaust, the roof, ETC They would have cost more than 25k which is the difference between M2C & M2CS

I agree. I'd wager a used one with all that added is almost CS money or more. Used for 40K, and then 35K+ in mods.

It's a wrap (San Marino) and not a respray.
Sooo bored of this type of cliched review now. Evo COTY (two weeks of thorough testing, all weathers, all roads and track etc) tells one all they need to know. Anyone who puts out reviews like this now simply hasn't spent enough time in any of the M2 variants to warrant saying anything else. Anyone who ends their review by saying "get a comp and for 5k you could end up with something extremely close" is an incredibly wishful thinker and quite a clown. |

I thought it was the throttle mapping it alters just like the standard E46 M3? I know there is a large flap in the carbon intake that opens/closes based on throttle positioning.

This review is pointless. The M2C was heavily modded, in part to try to approach a CS. The reviewer did not know all of the mods or the additional costs. And if that is a factory SMB paint job on the M2C, then the C was easily more expensive than the CS. The cost of the M2C is all fine and dandy (I couldn’t care less how expensive another man’s car is) except for the fact that it was another useless review that had the same old rinse-and-repeat discussion about comparative value. If you’re going to come this late to the party and still insist on rehashing comparative value, at least use a stock M2C. This fellow delivered no new information or insight whatsoever.

Detail: he slipped that the "C" in "CSL" of the E46 M3 CSL stands for "Club" (@02:03).
IMHO that's inaccurate: Quote:

I noticed that too. There were a few other items that he seemed to be misinformed about during the video. The terms "knob" and "wanker" come to mind. See what I did there. Both sides of the pond

Knob and wanker were too kind my good Sir. I do not proclaim to know anywhere near enough about Motorsport or BMW M to be more specific. I just love the M2CS, that's all. having said that, even I know a few things these good folks didn't. That's in most part the reason I posted it because I was sure those who watched it would perhaps leave comments for the presenter to educate him. Knobs, lol.
