He just said in another thread that we won't be seeing the M2 in Shanghai either (May). Sucks

Even if we don't get the reveal we can maybe get a little bit of information
Anything will do lol I'm starting to think it may actually be Frankfurt when we see this thing first.... |

Frankfurt is in September... that would be brutal. I would think that there will be a concept reveal sometime in May either during M fest or at latest a private event such as pebble beach in August like the M4 and the production vehicle would be at Frankfurt. Or at least that would make sense. I mean, from a marketing perspective, is there any advantage to putting off the reveal that close to production? I would say no, but then again I'm an engineer not a marketer

Don't forget Pebble Beach. I'm crossing my fingers for it because I'll actually be on the West Coast then and hope to attend.

I think it would take away from the M4 GTS or the M2 to reveal them at the same event. That said I think the M4 GTS is getting M Festival since it will likely be a euro-only model. Then it would make sense for the M2 to follow in the M4's footsteps and get Pebble Beach.

As I understand it, the last generation M3 GTS was offered to BMW USA but they declined because they didn't think an M3 that expensive would sell here. I suppose whether BMW USA declines again will depend on the particulars.

It wasn't BMW NA's decision whether to bring the GTS or not. That model (with race bucket seats and roll cage) would never pass certification for road use in the U.S. Also being that the motor was unique, EPA testing would have had to been conducted.

I don't get all the hiding. Not like we'll get twin turbo V8 and a super light chassis with laser lights.
We should get "Bimmerpost Limited Edition" M2s for our patience! |

I am super pumped it doesn't have a sunroof on these mules.
That means more headroom for my 6'7" 204cm frame. I will want to get a helmet in there. |

Why would a front engine car have air vents on the rear arches?

Am I missing something? Didn't someone say that the sides will be similar to the GT, just not as pronounced? I thought the GT have side vents, no? And yes, I know that most Porsches have engines in the back.

Similar to the GT but without the side vents in the rear. I wasn't suggesting that you didn't know that, my apologies if it came off that way.

No worries. I remember Scott mentioning it was similar to the GT so when I was looking at the Cayman I thought it might be just like that.
