M2C Dinan tunes coming very soon! +80WHP /+88WTQ & +146HP/+155WTQ

I inquired about whether Dinan was going to have a tune released soon for the M2C. Turns out yes!

According to my source, next week they will be releasing the M2 Comp / M3 / M4 Direct Port Tuning Options for these vehicles ECU's.

Tuning will be available in two forms:
Warrantied (Lower Power Output) = +80WHP / +88WTQ
Non-Warranted = +146 WHP / +155WTQ

The Upgrade will allow for the use of multiple octane maps, as well as a top speed governor removal. There will be no additional hardware or piggyback units required. Should only take a BMW dealer or speed shop an hour or so I think to flash the ECU.

No pricing thus far but maybe next week could hear more I am told.

I'm probably going to do the warrantied option which should be a strong bump in HP and Torque. Once my M2C is out of warranty if I still have it I would then bump it up to the higher non-warranty HP/TQ spec!

The M2C is fast as it is in stock format but after driving it a year I feel I want just a little extra something! Dinan to the rescue!

Discussion on the dinan tune is available here. Might contain some more information for you if you are interested. Also, pricing is already released.

Damn, so you can have a 450whp (over 500 at the crank) best with factory warranty for about $2500 over stock.

That's what it seems . I'm so tempted, even though I don't really "need" more HP.

I'm be a bit worried that it would upset the perfect balance and it would become too difficult to drive until upgrading to wider and stickier tires.

That’s awesome! 20% more tq and power will be noticeable. Worth the price given it’s still warrantied.

Hope that means the car still has plenty cooling capacity left for hot track days.

I have the Stage 1 tune by bm3 and I have traction issues. I can't ever just floor it...especially in first gear, but hot damn is it fun!

They sell an enlarged heat exchanger for folks that track there M2C or run it hard often. Raises HP too.

I'd get it on paper that potential SCH damage is covered.

Then notarized and reviewed by an attorney.

"Bit a of a gray area to be honest. By the letter of the warranty statement we do not warrant "any vehicle operated in any competitive event or subjected to aggressive track conditions." You can interpret that how you like"

Dinan's answer to warranty if the car is tracked

Yes the Heat Exchanger (HE) is required for the higher level HP output (non warranty) option.

I am biting the bullet and going with the Carbahn Stage 1 tune, with matching warranty as well.

Interesting option! Something to consider. Does this work for the new ECU’s though that are locked?

I'm considering the same tune. I'll do crank hub fix and add the HE.

Will the Dinan accomplish similar numbers as the Carbahn?

DME will have to be shipped back to the tuner to unlock and flash. My dealer is both Dinan and Carbahn authorized, so I will let them deal with it.
