Shorter final drive for the manual CS than the M2C?

Probably a typo.

But, isn't the 763m black matte? Or is the gloss black here specially for the M2 CS like the grey for the M4 CS?
Yes 763s come Matt black with MPerformance stamped on them.
From the pictures of the Misano blue car it looks like we get edited versions of the 763s without the MPerformance stamping (which is slightly less parts bin and bespoke to this car - and along the same lines as M3/4 CS).
If only they came in Orbit grey like M3/4 and not gloss black.
Although we haven't seem them in gloss black yet so could look great.

Good news that BMWUSA didn't add unnecessary non-performance packages to this car - I.e the Exec pack with window shades on the M3 and M4 CS.

Great release from BMW. The body shape of the 2 series is just not my cup of tea but everything else is on point. Why couldn't they get this right with the M3 and M4CS from the getgo?

No idiotic cardboard door panels? Check.
No idiotic loops to close the doors? Check.
Manual transmission? Check. Check. Check.

I love it! Not sure about a blue car with red calipers, gold wheels and red stiching inside..

I'd go with white exterior, gold wheels and a sticker set like the M3 LTW

"Steel subframe bolted to the body frame without bushing". That right there is the coolest part of this thing. Pretty awesome and a shame many will truly not get driven hard enough, bigger shame I don't see one in my future! Probably the best new BMW available.

You are absolutely missing the point here silly.

BMW warranty, Carbon fiber OEM. I would guess curb weight around the OG M2 with 444HP and 406 TQ will be this a track monster. In addition to the 6 speed making it a "purist" driving experience compared to the 3/4 CS models.

If the rumor is true of only 500 units coming to the US and priced under $80K, this will be a homerun and a future collectible. Hopefully, they learned their lesson on the 3/4CS over price. Ideally, $70-75K is the right price for this baby monster. Then you have a winner

Warranty sure, carbon fiber who cares the car is still pig heavy. 444 hp, can easily surpass this by 100 hp with just software. Not worth it to me for 20k over a M2C. Disappointing there are no performance real hardware changes that can't easily be added afterwards. If it was 10k over M2C maybe but I probably wouldn't go for it. My net balance to upgrade from a 17 M2 to a new M2C was 10K and I got a completely upgraded motor.

Carbon Fiber on this car is just for aesthetic purposes and not reducing any weight, no performance gain IMO. Very sad that the CS is still a heavy car.

I agree $20k over the M2c is not worth the price for the M2 CS. I'm standing back and I am sure the M2 CS will be discounted some since they will not be flying off dealer lots as some my think.

This will weight easily 100lbs lighter than the competition. Just like the software update on the competition, you can do on the CS. power to weight ratio will benefit more with the CS. In addition to that, it will maintain value and potentially increase in value. The residuals on these will be an advantage over the competition. As long as the price is in the sweet spot of $70-75K

The spec that is 100 pounds lighter won't be 70-75k, I can guarantee you that. The places where it saves the most weight is the roof, and brakes which are both optional and $$. Even if it's 100 pounds lighter it's still a heavy pig for a car that size. Hell even the M240iR race car min weight is 3,200 pounds. There's no way the street car was going to lose that much weight.

It can be, it is just not standard.

You guys in the US will have to deal with ridiculous premiums that dealers are going to put on that car making it even more idiotic in price.

Yeah it was shared before. It is 43 kgs lighter than the M2C if you opt for the carbon ceramics.

I am not amazed they made sure all M Performance logos are removed. BMW M and M Performance don't like each other one bit and that is the reason M developed its own roof and bonnet for this car. Also the reason the trunk is not there but that lip spoiler. Even the front splitter is different on the CS than the M Performance part. Maybe that is also why it doesn't have a M Performance exhaust...

I get that's probably true but why not just blurt it out then, it's not like anything is going to change..

This is like hiding the fact that you have a small penis, on the night of your honeymoon; she's going to find out anyways..

Hypothetically speaking, of course..

Easy to do, install an ANTIGRAVITY lithium battery, and immediately reduce weight by 42 lbs.

Exactly that is why the CS is not worth the premium of $20k+ over the M2cs. I'm sure future buyers will realize this soon and buy an M2c instead thus leaving the M2 CS sitting unsold on dealers lots.

Anyone know whether the CS would be eligible for euro delivery? I think it looks fantastic and depending on pricing I could see one in my garage replacing my standard M2.
