Carbon build up in fuel injectors?

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Hey guys!

just hit one with my car and 23k miles, anywho woke up to a 1 year celebration check engine light! I brought it in and they said it was carbon buildup in my Fuel Injectors. Seems weird to have such a problem at such low mileage (low mileage for a problem like that at least) wanted to get your guys opinion on it here is a photo of what was needed to be done.

You can press Ctrl + to zoom in, Ctrl - to zoom out or Ctrl 0 to reset zoom directly from any web browser. I use this feature all the time for things like this.

Yes, but zooming in on a shitty low quality pic will not make it look better.

Do you do a lot of short trips when the car doesn't get warmed up? How often do you take it out and let it loose?

I'm just curious under what conditions this might be an issue.

Oh I hope this isn’t an issue for all the cars ,,, nobody wants to do carbon clean every 25k.

This engine has been in M3/M4s for years. I think if it were a major issue we'd have heard something by now.
