This should resolve octane issue. It should allow for 2-3 more psi knock resistance wise, compared to stock internal. Ethanol/meth would do a better and easier job for less though.

It's probably not the best rewarding mod in term of peak power. But a TRUE pump gas 470+whp from N55, which I guarantee you has not been gotten by anyone in the world at this point, would be magnificent.

BTW, this is the build - FBO, PS2, XDI pump, CP piston (compression ratio lowered).

NOT my car, I'm done modding with M2 already.

I'm guessing it's because E85 has issues starting in cold weather. Back when I ran flex fuel on the BRZ, if I had about 4 gallons or more of E85 in the tank, I'd have a hell of a time trying to get the car to crank - it'd take about 5-7 attempts before the car would fire up.

I ended up pouring in more 91 (80/20 mix) to get it running during the winter months.

I’m going the WMI route myself. Hopefully get install completed and SYSTEM dialed in before next track date in a couple weeks...at COTA.
Don’t mean to hijack ZM2s awesome thread here but...just completed a basic AEM V2 WMI system installation and took a short test drive. In short...system works as advertised and all expectations appear to have been met. Best part is that the more I push it, the more it sprays and the lower the IATs go...awesome ! I’ll get a thread going after a bit more testing.

Definitely looking forward to seeing your thread! If we can figure out a good WMI setup for the track, I’m all over it!

Alright, I added some E85 to take my tank up to E30, and all I can say is wow! Extremely strong power and very smooth.

The Stg 2 93 map with 93 pump gas feels like it’s choking, whereas E30 is super responsive and strong. It’s pretty amazing how much better timing holds up with E30 vs pump gas as IATs push into 120-130F.

With the HPFP dropping to 1800-psi, I'm halfway worried that if I move from the stock DP to a 300-cell DP that the added power will take me over the edge...

Take a look and let me know what you think! http://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5cf292f8ae729b2e438feaab

Congrats, are you running E30 map based on this E85 mixed?

Yup, E30 map and mixing E85 with pump gas to get E30 in my tank.

The cooling effect of the ethanol vs gas is pretty noticeable as IATs >120F. With gas, power reduction is very noticeable. With E30, it just keeps pulling. Seems like this would be a huge help on hot track days, but most tracks don’t have E85.

So, now I’m debating bringing gas cans with E85 to the track, or just running my standard booster/race gas mix which will still require dialing back the tune on hot days.

Hmm, worked pretty good for me.

I added my car, which is where you spec tank size and current ethanol %. Then changed % filling to 100% in the settings. I didn’t need to make any changes to the pump types.

Then, you start a calculation, enter your current tank full % at the bottom and it should spit out how many E85 and pump gas gallons you need.

The upside to E85 and how quick you go thru it is you run into other guys at the pump running tunes. Bumped into an M4 guy today.

Yup. It doesn’t keep track of what’s in your tank as easily as the app. The app is much better IMO.

Yeah, it’s nice and hot here now, so I’m not expecting too much.

I only had a chance for one quick 100-200 run yesterday and it was a 9.1. Will post a few up when I can do more runs.

Hey guys, here are some new logs of a Stg 2H E30 map that Halim is working on. I put E32 in the car for a little more headroom, but the HPFP is starting to dip about as low as I’d want to go.

The car feels great, especially 4th gear, and we’re deciding if we want to push more or not.

This is still on the stock downpipe, and my HJS 300-cell DP is arriving from Germany today and going on the car next week!

I have pretty easy access to E85, and would love to be able to run this map with my car. I know I can't currently because the base grade fuel is too low octane, but perhaps with WMI to help with that... We'll see in a few weeks.

First log has too many short WOT for my taste..

Second log slightly better but still you need some a solid 30mph to 100mph starting in 3rd gear if DCT and 2nd gear going into different gears.

2 or 3 single logs of WOT through multiple gears its easier to view and share

Don't redline the car as there's really no advantage, shift at 6800 perhaps or is it in Auto mode?

Timing a little funny on that 3rd cylinder.. But I am guessing this is due to stock cats.. Would look much better once you throw in the Downpipe

Yeah, I didn’t have a lot of room for these quick runs. I’ll get some more space to start slower and go thru the gears.

All of my logs have had that issue on cylinder 3, so I wasn’t sure if it was a bad plug or the DP.

Should def get some 60-130 / 100-200 in the night time when its cool in a safe mexico area. So that way you can be surprised (happy) on the difference the downpipe will do.

No major updates except the car is running great and pulling strong. I did have to back down the E32 blend to E30, as the HPFP was starting to give me issues under load. Feels really good with E30.

Still haven’t had a good time to get some Dragy pulls on the Stg 2H E30 map, will work on that. HJS 300-cell goes on Thursday.
