Lmk if that link doesn't work. There should be a line item for SAF-XJ which is the diff fluid
Yep yep, I found that thread shortly after posting in this one. Mine does have the SAF-XJ listed, so I guess everything is good to go. It would be nice if these line items had customer readable descriptions so I didn't have to go digging online to make sure everything was done.

I had the same issue. No real mention of the rear diff. service. I called after the service to question why they didn't do the diff. I was on hold while the SA spoke to the tech who stated that the diff was definitely done. This was the first time I had a RO that did not specify all work done.

For the M2C, has anyone had any trouble getting the dealership to perform the intercooler reservoir service?

My dealer tech, who is a friend, showed me the official checklist for my m2c and it did not mention intercooler bleeding. So, I just got the oil change, diff fluid change, and they cleared the codes for the break in.

Interesting. It's rather strange the M3/4 with S55 called for this but the M2C doesn't even though it's the same.

I'm still trying to find out. The M2C should have the same break in service as the M3/M4 yet apparently the intercooler is left forgotten. Don't see how that makes sense at all...

I need to go check my manual. Because I’m pretty sure they did not bleed my intercooler at my 1,200 mile service. Or if they did, they didn’t put it on the bill.

Good tip! I'm at 800 miles and getting ready to schedule the 1200 mile service.

Wasn’t on my bill. Not sure if that is done anymore. Are you going off what you saw posted here or something you were told by your dealer?

Should I be worried if I picked up my M2C from the dealer with 49 miles on it? Probably means somebody was taking it around the block?

49 miles? Did you order this car, or buy it off the dealer lot? 49 miles means it's been taken on several test drives. My car, which I did performance center delivery, had 11 miles.

As noted, if off the dealer lot, then 49 is totally normal. It went on some test drives. Don't fret it.

11 miles at PDC however is a LOT. I think it comes off the truck and is put in storage. Not sure how they did 11 miles -I still would not worry about it, but interesting. I'll be there tomorrow and maybe I can ask someone if that is now the new norm.

It wasn't put in storage. They moved it, almost daily, for the several weeks it sat there waiting for my scheduled date to arrive. It was moved around in one of the huge parking lots over at the factory. Then it got moved across the street to the performance center where it was frequently moved there as well. I know this because it showed up in the Connected app on my iPhone prior to picking it up.

It was the dealer lot. Car had sat there for a month with the stop sale. Was just worried that people were rough on it during the test drives and that would ruin my break-in.

Hearing this I'm almost glad my car was at the port during the stop sale.... less temptation for dealer employees to joy ride. I hope that's not the case with you. Did you order this car or did you buy a dealer ordered car?

It wasn't your car at that time right? If it was, nobody should have been test driving it.

as for ruining your break-in, I'm not sure how that could be done - I'm not here to start a how to break-in a car thread, but short of someone getting on the car hard while it was cold, probably nothing they could do to really hurt it.

Of course, if it is a manual, well then.. who knows maybe they were learning to drive stick

Weird - I did see a large lot down the street (on the way back to the highway) - called Vehicle administration - and either that's where they stored these or it was for employee lease cars and perf center cars.

Cool that you were able to track it!

Does anybody know if the break-in service for the S55 in M4 still includes bleeding the intercooler reservoir? Curious as to whether BMW just isn't doing this for the M2c (which would seem strange) or if they stopped doing it for all S55s (which would be more likely I'd have thought).

BMW NA has access to the data log in your car and it tracks all RPM and driving data. They showed me mine on the M techs workstation. Supposedly, BMW NA only had access vs the dealership. Maybe this has changed. Either way, the data is there and they can show you the RPM the car saw during its first miles. I had 1.6 miles on the car when delivered 👍

got mine done today - oil, rear diff only - btw, the M2C service booklet that comes with the manual spells out the different tasks for each service period, per different M models (2, 3, 4). Clearly states that bleeding the intercooler is not part of the M2C service.

my SA also suggested there is some sort of software change that "unlocks more performance". Now, while I'm suspect of what exactly that means, because I can't find any reference to that in the service manual, my ride home was a significantly different experience than the first 1200. What I don't know is that I wasn't baby'ing it for the first time or if there actually is some new juice across the band. (probably the former).
