Does the M2 and M4 have the same front seats?

Hi,

I know this sounds like a silly question...

Last week I test drove a 2018 M2 and today I test drove a 2016 M4.

I could really feel the side bolsters of the M4 on my back (I'm 6'2" with a wide back). Initially uncomfortable, marginally better within 5 minutes of the test drive, but I could still feel it.

The M2, I don't remember even thinking of the seats.

It got me thinking...these cars are very similar. I was wondering if the seats are actually the same and it's just my imagination.

Does anyone know about the seats?

Thanks

I would guess they would be the same, maybe different mounting hardware. The M4 possibly had minor bolster adjustments from the previous driver?

They are not the same

2016-2018 M2 use seats that are essentially the same as the 235/240
2019+ M2 competition has the same seats from the base M4 but different from the M4 competition.

Personally I prefer the seats from the M2c/M4 over the others. They more evenly distribute the weight compared to the 2016-2018 M2 seats, and the M4 Competition seats has terrible lumbar support. The M2c/M4 are just right but I'm not tall and my shoulders aren't too broad.

It's personal preference. I found the M2c seats to be too firm and not very adjustable. I prefer the M2 seats.

Ha ha, you must have been really focusing on just getting in, and driving the cars, which I don't blame you. They look and feel different. I knew they looked different, but didn't know the M4/M3 seat felt so much more aggressive until I actually sat in an M3 at the dealership.
