Looking for a performance shop on the West side of the Portland Metro
I think the time has come for the udder to be replaced on my M2C. I'm having a bit of a hard time finding any shops in the area that are interested in responding to inquiries. Matrix Integrated Westside doesn't seem to check their emails at all. Does anyone have any recommendations? I do not have the equipment to swap an exhaust system out at home (plus, I'm an idiot and I'm sure it wouldn't go well if I did).

Hey, check out Autohaus Bayern on Beaverton Hillsdale Hwy. Darby has installed exhausts for my previous M3, and they did good work. Their shop specializes in maintenance, but he's up for exhausts, etc.

AR Auto Service provides a ton of trackside support to the HPDE community. I haven’t had the chance to deal with them directly, but they have a good reputation. The tech they send out to Audi Club events -Dan, is a super nice guy. They’re in Lake Oswego.
http://www.arautoservice.com/ Small shops in general can either answer phone calls or work on cars. I don’t know anything about Autohaus Bayern, but if it’s just 1-3 techs, it might be worth popping in to inquire rather than wait for a call or email back. |

I’ll second AR. They have been doing work on a sunset orange m2c with posts on FB. Have a lot of track focused customers both in HDPE and in dedicated track/race cars.

Thanks for the suggestions, folk! I appreciate it. I likely can't just pop into anywhere in Lake Oswego (I live in Cornelius and work in Hillsboro...going anywhere near Lake Oswego during business hours is pretty problematic). Autohaus Beyern is certainly possible, though. I had forgotten they were there.

Anyway, I’m sure you got the point, but I didn’t see my error until now. AR is big enough that someone will probably pick up the phone. No question shop hours can be challenging to work around. |

Please keep us posted on who you end up working with. I'm particularly interested to hear your experience if you go with Matrix Integrated, since they have a location near me in Bend.

I had them put in the Akrapovic exhaust and diffuser. Really great work and a ton of free swag along with it. |

Futrell Autowerks did not disappoint!
We had a bit of a rough run getting the job done, but the guys at Futrell took great care of me and my car. The udder is gone. The first udder-replacement had a manufacturing defect and they had to get another one, but the growly happy sounds coming out of my car with the Akropovic exhaust made it all worth it.
Futrell is an Audi/VW shop, but that didn't stop them from treating my M2C right! |

Traffic was heavy when I left the shop, Dean from the shop tried to get a video but I don't think he got a good one. I'll try to make one at some point, just for you.

If you visit Futrell's facebook page, there's a video that they posted. The car wasn't warmed up when I left so the takeoff portion of it is only so-so.

That's awesome! And it looks great with the carbon tips and rear diffuser. Thanks for sharing.

I'm quite happy with it, both appearance-wise and the sound from inside the cabin. Without forcing the flaps open, there's enough coming through now for shift-points in manual mode, and it's added more to the emotional experience of driving than I was expecting. It's almost strange to not see the udder hanging down after almost 14 months with the car, and when I look at pics of our cars with the original tips they just look dinky.
