track wheels and tires ---maybe?

So the dilemma we face.

Going to my 2nd track weekend at Barber this weekend. I did my first weekend on new of PS4S. My bet that after this weekend they will be in pretty poor shape.

I have a 2017 OG M2 that is a weekend driver. If I were to go the route of a second set of wheels tires what route advice would give?

What a can of worms!

Titan-7 have worked great for me. I have a set of 19” TS-5s for track duty. I’ll be at Barber this weekend also. If you want to see the wheels, look me up. White M2C #350. Hope for no rain!!

Fwiw, for my track weekends, I went with the following for my M2C:

- Apex EC-7 wheelset (F:19x9.5, ET28, 22.65 lbs. & R:19x10.5, ET45, 23.4 lbs.)
- Michelin Pilot Sport Cup-2 Connect 255/35/19 & 275/35/19 tires

I run the exact same wheels but with PS4S's in the same size above for daily/street use.

I was in the exact situation as you about a month ago. After two track weekends this year the outsides of my ps4s were not doing great lol. Since I’ll be doing more track weekends next year I decided to go with Bimmerworld TA8S 18” square setup with 265 width tires. Square setup allows me to rotate the tires around and maximize track tire usage. I’m going to start with cheaper falken 615K+ tires to get a feel on tire wear at my track before I decide if it’s worth buying camber plates.

Apex and use their wheel guide or call them they are very knowledgable with track setups.

Second set for track is a must after the first 2-3 events and will save you money by using track tires that can last multiple events. ps4s is soft and not designed for track only environment.

Always remember to bring a spare wheel. Rims crack and tires pop even new ones.

Cheap square way:
4x 10" M437 wheels, to mount them in the front you will need a spacer, with 275/30 tyres.

If you want any chance of tire life, you'll need camber plates.
