BMW's stock pads have always been more street orientated than track, serious track duty entails swapping pads and high temp brake fluid, should be good to go then.

Do we know if they test with the stock pads or not?

Always stock.
My own experience on track with soft pads is that the pedal gets soft after 10 minutes of very hard braking.

Changing that and fluid liquid should make it a beast, though. To-do list 2020.

The M2C was ahead of the Supra until this. Pobst is an unbelievable driver. I don't think any mortal would experience this.

Even so, dodgy brakes aside, a lap time of 1:40.83 is faster than a Cayman S 981 and a Cayman R 987.
That knock back I wonder ... is that the same thing as an ice pedal or whatever they call it when you hit the brakes and it feels really firm but doesn't actually slow the car at all? I had that in my F80 a couple times on track and it was very unnerving ... I'd take fade over that ... although with pads and fluid I didn't have much issue with fade even with my amateur braking techniques

Indeed a decent showing by both. I would have hoped for higher. Wow has the Mustang improved that much?

Yea, too old. M4 did it back when it first came out...non-comp car was just a hair under 1:40 IIRC.

Because it's close to being yesterday's news.

The M2 Chubby is far more relevant.

There are more reports of issues with these 2NH brakes than I ever saw with the blue ones. I'm not sure why. I also have seen reports of some aftermarket pads being loose and clanking around, not sure if they have all the proper shims or are just the wrong size or what. On the M2C I drove, I felt the brakes were fine but the pedal is way overboosted, even more than my Z4M. The old blue brakes and the CCBs on M4s do not feel like that.

I'm not surprised it's there. Roundel said it was a very good track car but again the suspension is too loose like they said

Now if PTF would just crack the DME, the down on power part would go away. D:

It's faster than the other 2 in a straight line & should be pretty close around a track to the 350. Should spank the Supra with a proper driver.
Interestingly enough before I drove an M2C I drove a 240i and my last "hard" stop of my test drive I experienced the wooden pedal feel that the M2C got dinged for in the Best Driver's car article. It's like the pedal hardly went in at all (felt like pressing against a block of wood) but the car did stop. It was an uncomfortable feeling and if I had been caning it around a track instead of just street driving at reasonable speeds I probably would have panicked.

I think something might be up with BMW's traction control programming that's telling the brakes to over compensate for what it thinks is lost grip. That's my best, completely unscientific guess.

GT350 surprised me to see on this list. Purely out of ignorance. Never been a fan of Mustangs, but props for addressing past issues on the track.

C&D? Of course. If you hate BMW and seek confirmation for your bias, C&D is the place to go. I keep having these ads on my social media “Here’s the best luxury saloons” with a picture of a 7 series. Then inside, you’ll see BMW behind every single competitor. Same with 3 series, 5 series, etc. Almost all BMWs are in top 3 for every single magazine or publication. Right now G20, G30, X3, X5, X7, 8 series are all winning all the comparison tests... on C&D they’re behind EVERYTHING. They don’t even make it to top 10. C&D has some issue with BMW, but I don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes.

I respect literally every single magazine, publication, website, YouTube channel more than C&D. And overall, British car media is the best and most reliable.

British car media is very reliable if you like nitpicking on items that do not apply to our market... European car media in general picks on things like practicality in cars that we do not use for utility but rather fun. On cars like the M2 and M3, they always say something about comfort... well sorry; thats not really a car for you. That's aside from the fact that they test all their cars in weather conditions that are literally some of the worst on Earth (rain). Then they complain about traction when they launch a 400whp rwd car in the rain. They also compare cars on value where their pricing is completely different than ours... Chris Harris seems to be the guy that stands out and seems to focus on the car for what it is.

I agree, C&D has an issue yet not long ago I thought they were M fanboys no?

Either way as you said, there are plenty of publications with no bias one way or the other.

I happen to love both the M2 & M2C and don't give a crap what anyone says.
