Yes. Power earlier is everything for driving around town. I had a 981 GT4 but barely drove it after getting the M2C. I agree that the 718 is way better for driving around town. While the 3.8L in the GT4 sounds beautiful (nothing had a better sounding stock exhaust), you can't get it into rev range with its long gearing outside out 1st gear, and the torque didn't allow for little powerslides that the M2C allows for at nearly every corner. GT4 was a great track weapon though, but I don't go to the track these days. I would still consider a 4cyl 718 as my next vehicle. I'm upset that they got rid of the GTS. The 4cyl doesn't sound bad to me and I love the feel & power delivery.

I love the character of the M2C; it’s so fun to drive, and the S55 is a lovely engine. Also own a 981 Boxster GTS w/x73 and a 991.2 cabriolet (both are pdk, and yes, kind of redundant. BGTS is for sale). I find myself grabbing the M2C key more often than the others, perhaps because it’s a manual.
If I could only have one, I’d be shopping CPO 991.2 base Carreras. Nice examples can be had around $70k, perhaps even less given the current state of car sales. |

Oh man, got any pics of the Miata? My best friend has one just for top down cruising and my ex had the red in Manual as a daily. Both are super fun to drive and was a really big contender when i was looking for an S2k.
