Recommendation - fun driving roads

Hi guys,

I'll be driving from Toronto to Washington DC and back for work in a couple weeks. Looking to take some fun driving roads that aren't too out of the way - I'll be in my M2. Anything you guys would recommend? Saw Skyline drive that seems pretty fun?

Thanks for your input!

Skyline drive has excellent views and can be a lot of fun to drive. Two things to be aware of: the speed limit is 35 mph / 56 kmh and there are a lot of RV's on it. My experience is that early morning drives tend to have less RV traffic.

I haven't actually done it yet, but this loop has always looked really tempting to me. If you're taking Skyline Drive down there anyway, give it a try and let us know how it goes!

Assuming you're taking I-99 S in PA, rather than getting onto PA turnpike > I-70, you should look at taking Rt 26 S from Everett where it turns into Orleans Rd in MD. Follow Orleans Rd. Stop for some grub at Bill's Place in Little Orleans, MD. Take Oldtown Orleans Rd west when you leave Bill's. That road eventually becomes David Thomas Rd for a short piece then hand a left on Rt 51 that will take you into Paw Paw, WV. This is about a 1.5 hour drive.

There's about 100 routes between Paw Paw and DC...just depends on how much time you want to take.

Have fun! Hopefully you're still on A/S or winter tires?

That looks just as epic, you guys are so lucky in that area.

Ya I'm still on winters, will switch over in late March once the weather is 100% stable.

If you're heading from Paw Paw to DC, WV Rt 9 has some nice sections as well and takes you through Berkeley Springs, which is a nice little town. The roads get less and less fun the closer you get to the city, obviously.

Where in DC will you be? I'll keep my eye out for an M2 with Ontario plates.

I'll actually be about an hour or so south west of Washington, had the option to drive rather fly and figure it'll be a good time.

rt 15 nice scenery, good surface and wide open road to open her up. Must have Waze and Valentine 1 combo. Drove many times to Buffalo and Toronto and this is my fav rt. Not much traffic. South of Buffalo cops can be annoying stationary and moving around Avoca to Savona and that area. Once in PA spped limit is 70mph and much better newer surface. NY state roads can be rough.
