Lowering my M2CS...what do I get to accomplish this?
Hey guys I wanted to throw this out in the arena for some help and see if im missing anything.
I am considering lowering my M2CS as its just to high for my liking and ive looked at the Bilstein Litchfield coil overs but I am curious if there is any other options to lower the car without having to swap out the full suspension as I like the way the car feels and handles as it sits now? Much appreciated in advance.

You could just go with a set of springs. If you want height adjustable there's a few options such as kw, mss, m perf off the f8x or even dinan I believe. Static springs like swift, eibach, etc are an option too

Appreciate the suggestion. Im going to search for springs for the M2C/CS and see what info I can come up with. Does anyone have any experience with just adding springs to the CS?
EDIT: I came across the MP HAS kit which looks like it would be perfect for what im after. https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1794730

I went with the M Performance HAS kit. Will post before and after pics once installed.

There is no spring set (to my knowledge) that will preserve the original ride. The vast majority of springs (if not all) are made to increase performance, as well as lower, and that means increasing spring rate. You have a 99% chance of making your ride more BOUNCY (spring rate), but more compliant. Secondly, BMW is known for using shocks/struts that work in a very specific range, and the moment you take them out of that range you're going to start to degrade the ride quality and it'll get worse and worse. I'm not sure about the CS shocks/struts, but I'd bet they are the same way. For a LONG time people thought this wouldn't be the case with the F87, so everyone was recommending springs alone and HAS kits. Unfortunately it was found that they kill the stock suspension. This may be the case with the CS suspension as well, but no one knows yet, so there are those that will give you their personal experience with springs and HAS kits but don't have enough miles yet to see if they are going to kill the ride quality. IMO there is only one way to do it right and that's to do a full coil-over suspension. Unfortunately, there IS NO marketed coil-over suspension that actually preserves the CS's ride quality, they all increase the spring rate. Now, they have better damping, sure, so that part is better, but the spring rate will be made to increase performance and therefore worse unless you find a company that will make you a bespoke set. I recommend you figure out exactly how you are going to drive the car first. Pure street car, 3 times a year HPDE car, daily driver/weekend racer, whatever, and then start looking at what companies can do for you. I think Nitron has a custom set up they can do, so you might look into that. |

You could try reaching out to evolve and talking to them about the MSS springs. They seem to be an interesting solution, but 3x the price of your average lowering spring.
The make a full kit for the EDC, so they might be able to send you in a good direction. Litchfield has their kit as well. Lowering is tough. Your reducing the suspension travel so to preserve this you do need stiffer springs |

Ride maybe slightly harsher which is expected from my past experiences but I’m gonna give it a shot. When it comes to wearing out the stock suspension, I’ll have to experience that because I just can’t see that happening in any short term tbh. If they do end up going bad for any reason I’ll be going with the Norton R3 Schirmer coil kit 😉. Will report back after I get some time on these with an update.

I forgot that was the case. Yes, the MP HAS kit has been great on the F80/82, so that should work great for you without killing your suspension in 10K miles, although it will still increase your spring rate and therefore movement/bounce. |
