Just secured a LBB

Just got the call that the dealership was able to secure a 2020 LBB, black wheels, executive pkg, 6MT for me from another dealer. They will contact me tomorrow to let me know the estimated delivery date. I am stupid excited! I come from a long line of mustangs/cobras and am looking forward to my first BMW. I hope the M2 Comp lives up to the reviews.

Congratulations. You should have lots of fun with your M2C after the breakin period is over.

It's mostly for the diff not the engine. Tons of crap comes out of the diff fluid at the 1200 mile break in

All good. Like I said, this is my first BMW and they pay for the regular maintenance for first 3 years, so if they tell me to bring it in at 1,200 miles, so they can change some of the fluids, I will without complaint. I am like a sponge right now trying to learn everything I can about the car, engine, chassis. But from my experience I am not waiting until 1,200 miles to enjoy the car, responsibly of course. I am not going to abuse it, but I sure as h*ll am not going to baby it either. ;-) Bed in the rings and the brakes as soon as possible.

Coming from V8s, the power delivery of the S55 might not impress you, but you’ll definitely appreciate other qualities of the car (refinement, etc.)
Congrats!

A $550. Flash tune on the M2C will give those V8s a run for their money in power and torque.

Thank you, from all of the reviews I have read and watched, I think I will be happy. It may or may not have the low end grunt of a V8, but I am thinking of it as an upgrade from my past cars. I am looking to move from hulking muscle cars to small refined sport coupe. I am getting a little older and looking for something that will still put a smile on my face and kick the *ss end out, but has the luxury to it as well.

Throttle House has a nice review between the GT350 and original M2 on youtube.

I thought the current ‘20 M2C’s DME are locked and cannot be tuned easily like the previous MY’s.
Then there’s the warranty issue

I was a bit underwhelmed at first, but overall, I love it much more than my old Vette or Camaro.
Enjoy!

They are all locked. It's just that after 3/2019 production they have a new bootloader installed that prevents unlocking at home through the OBD port. The DME can be sent in for a bench unlock with a 3 day turnaround. Then you can flash tunes all day long. The M4 CS tune is particularly attractive since it is basically a BMW tune with all the safeguards along with it. ZOOM!
The car can be flashed back to the stock original tune from home at will.

Will do. Just heard from the dealer that they added it to their inventory, so I guess the next step is for them to finalize the transportation to here.
It has 12 miles on the odo and was housed on the other dealers showroom floor.

Oh man i'm so jealous and happy for you at the same time. I'm still trying to talk to the sales rep i was working with but it almost seems like the guy doesnt want to sell me the car. He keeps telling me stuff like "we cant offer that pricing since the other one was discounted" when theres one thats not even fully built yet being listed at below MSRP. Its just getting more and more frustrating for me.

Can't say as I understand that logic? Discounted like a rebate that isn't being offered anymore? Are there any other dealers close to you? If that is an option, I would call another dealer and see what they can work for you. That does suck!

My car is supposed to be delivered this Friday! So now I am trying to work out if it is best to go this Friday or wait until Saturday. Since it is being delivered Friday, I am thinking Saturday would be smarter to make sure the car is ready to be picked up.

Why not Friday? I dont think it takes much for the dealer to prep a car for sale. Of course if they can't prep your car on Friday, they'll let you know.

The big one is, Friday is Valentine's Day, great for me, but not so much a romantic adventure for the wife. ;-) I'm not sure how smart it is to bring a mistress into the house on V-Day.

Secondly, I would have to take a day off of work.

Third, Without knowing the actual delivery time on Friday I do not want the dealer to rush anything, and I do not want to feel rushed nor take delivery after dark as I want to be able to see the car for inspection purposes. And yes they will have it inside under the fluorescent lighting (which hides all kinds of things).

Fourth, I have waited a while, so what is one more evening. :-)
