BMW M2 Competition with AA Midpipe installed. Startup / Rev / Drive by video!

Had a customer of ours install his AA midpipe on his M2c and took some videos. Thought this would help anyone on the fence! Downpipe + rear section are stock.

Cold start / idle / revs

Drive by (partial throttle)

Revs (Warmed Up)

Revs (Warmed Up Pops & Crackles)

Warmed up light launch

I believe this system will be much louder with the exhaust valves open 100% of the time.

Last weekend I permanently opened my exhaust valves on my M2c. Cold start is significantly louder now with valves open all the time.

It seems like even sport + does not open the valves all the time. Opens the valve and than closes it, etc.

Different rear section, adding downpipes, or combination of both will definitely do the trick

Different rear, will add about 5-10% more sound depending on which product.

Downpipes, 30% more volume easy.... + more turbo sounds

Correct, OEM valve operation closes the valve upon throttle release or downshifts to prevent drone.

BM3 allows you to fully open the valve in sport and sports plus, while retaining OEM operation in efficient (Valves closed till 4k rpm | downshifts valve closed)

Has anybody tried pairing this with another one of the M2C axle back exhausts yet? I think the only AA implementations I've seen so far are full Signature or the midpipe paired with OEM rear section.

Good question! But fitment could be an issue.

Yeah I'm sure it could be a problem to get it to fit. The thing is that I know pairing the AA mid pipe with an aftermarket axle-back was hugely popular with the m3/4 and AA even has the option on their website to select if you are hooking the pipe up to OEM or tuner exhaust. Just waiting for the first person to try it on an M2C and see how it goes, hopefully the same as the other S55 cars.

Whoever wants to try let me know and I will give amazing pricing in exchange for videos

May be stupid question but what rear section is he running AA as well? couldn't tell by exhaust tips. Also deck lid looks great on HS! might be good option over m performance!

Sounds good but it's hard to tell if it's louder than stock. Better sounding than stock for sure, but is it louder with just the AA midpipe and otherwise stock exhaust?

Maybe 15% louder than stock and slightly wetter sounding burbles if that makes sense. I have the midpipe and was underwhelmed. Will be putting my VRSF downpipes in one of these days and hopefully that gives me the sound I'm after.

I had VRSF pipes on my F80. Sound was good until i added Eisenmann resonated mid pipes. Droning was bad and it was way to loud. i just dint like the sound any more. JMO

Thanks for the video.
I have ordered my AA mid pipe and it's good to hear there is no drone.
Sounds good on a warm start in Sport+

The increase in sound compared to the OEM exhaust in your case will be bigger because your OPFs are more restricted than the kats of the car in the video
