following along, was hopefully to see higher numbers with just a tune but I know im greedy. Also we all know dyno numbers can be a place where people like to fight back and forth but I rather talk about 1/4 mph numbers and see what going on. Especially if you have a dragy or other device just run it before and after and see what type of times your running period.

I think the CS and Stage 1 Dyno numbers at the wheels are pretty good when you consider it was almost 90 degrees with high humidity during testing:

OP if head back to the dyno Id love to see results with around 2 gallons of e85 mixed in with rest 93 pump. I bet you pick up 10-15 whp and the car will run better in the high heat. Thanks for being the first to post these results!

I have been testing out the CS+ Map lately on my otherwise stock M2 Competition.

I love the benefits of the Stage 1 top end but I also like the linear naturally aspirated power delivery of the CS+ since a lot of the low end excess torque is somewhat unusable for me.

Am I better off doing boots reductions to Stage 1 or going with the CS+ which I assume accomplishes the same task but is tuned professionally by PTF?

Does the CS+ have the same top end as the Stage 1 or is the Stage 1 still stronger towards redline? This can help me make my choice.

My only concern is that the CS+ Map seems to still be in (BETA) several months after the last revision. Not sure why its still labeled that way...?

Overall, the BM3 is working perfectly and is one of the best mods you can do to this car.

Thanks to all in advance!

Update:

I asked the following question to the PTF folks:

Does the CS+ have the same top end as the Stage 1 or is the Stage 1 still stronger towards redline?

Am I better off doing BBG reductions to Stage 1 or going with the CS+ which I assume accomplishes the same task but is tuned professionally by PTF?

This was their reply:

Stage 1 is way stronger. You can do it on the Stage 1 as the CS+ is already limited from 'factory'

Are the CS, CS+ and Stage 1 pre-built maps that all come with a BM3 license? Besides having the license what else do you need to flash the car, I assume a Windows laptop and some sort of USB to OBD2 cable?

All the Stage 0 maps (ZCP, CS, CS+ etc.) are free and you get one free OTS map, which can be a Stage 1 or Stage 2 for a specific octane (e.g. Stage 1 91oct, Stage 1 93oct, Stage 2 91oct, Stage 2 93oct, Stage 2 E30, Stage 2 Race gas etc.). So you get to choose one of these with your free map credit. Or you can pay an extra $100 to unlock all OTS maps. All you need is a Windows or Mac laptop and an OBD cable (same cable that is used to code the car). There is also another alternative if you don't want to use a laptop, called OBD agent device. It connects to the car via the OBD ENET cable and has WIFI to connect to the BM3 servers over your phone's internet. In other words, you can change maps via your phone as long as you have this small device in the car with you. Here's more info on that:

What if you buy someone's license 2nd hand do you just get whatever free OTS map they chose originally plus the Stage 0 maps?

Also it can only be transferred once right? The second owner can't resell.

When you buy used, you get to choose your own free OTS map. However, as you said, you cannot sell the license again. Only the original buyer can resell the license. I bought mine used and chose my own free OTS map, which was totally different from what the seller had on his account. I chose stage 1 91oct as my free map but the seller had stage 2 93ct as his free map. Just to clarify, I don't have access to his free map. I only have Stage 0 maps and and my Stage 1 91oct map available on my account. Basically when you buy used, it's no different than buying a brand new license except you just can't sell it again. I paid $350 for my used license btw.

I am still trying to find the best way to attain the linear "naturally aspirated" power delivery of the CS+ map but with maximum power at the top end.

Any guidance or opinions on doing boost reductions to Stage 1 versus going with the CS+ map and calling it a day?

Seems like it's about the same value to buy a new one and resell for 350 or so vs. buying a used one for that. A new license is what, 600 on sale?

Yes, there isn't that much of a difference. You can probably find a new license for around $550 and sell it in the future for $350. It would cost you $200 overall vs buying a used one for $300-$350. I just didn't want to deal with selling it in the future and just pulled the trigger on a used license.

Did you have to get your DME unlocked first, or just buy the BM3, flash and go?

Just flash and go.

I have already been to the dealer twice for service and I can still flash the car without any issues.

I just set up the appointments for the weekends when they are less likely to attempt software updates.
