Does stock M2 exhaust fit in the car?

Hi all,

I'm soon to be upgrading my stock m2 exhaust to the Remus system. I am curious for those who have upgraded their stock system, does it fit inside the car with the seats down for the drive home? I know it is one large unit, including the muffler, resonator, and piping.

Trying to figure out if I need to coordinate another larger car to bring it back.

Thanks!

Do you mind cutting it into three to four pieces? If not, it is impossible to fit in the car, the muffler itself will take up the entire trunk

I did the same as you.

It will fit if cut into two pieces. You'll still need the rear seats folded down.

There's absolutely no way it will fit as one complete piece

Thanks, sounds like I'll either need to enlist the help of a friend, or cut it. I suppose to reinstall it any good muffler shop could weld it where it was cut?

I cut mine at a factory breakpoint and was able to fit the two pieces it in the trunk with seats down

You can put the whole exhaust through the trunk with the back seats down without a problem. I had the MPE fit through the whole car once but that you had to go through the door. You can definitely slide it through the back, just the pipe will be on your armrest.

With The MPE it isn't the full stock cat back exhaust. It's cut already.

If you can't get it transported in one big piece I would cut it where the mounting points for an MPE/Dinan res delete would go. This way it can be clamped back together using either one of those popular systems if you decide to sell or reinstall.

Hi, I tried to put the OEM in mine but I had to cut it, to long and I wanted to avoid damages due to a brake or something unexpcted.

There is no way it will fit inside the car. It will not fit in an Audi Q5 either! BWM have helped out and marked where it should be cut and I agree, any good muffler shop will be able to re-weld it back to together.

Another issue is storage. It's too big to put just about anywhere so you need to think about that too.

...however, you are going to love the Remus!

it would probably be easier if you just go on turo and rent a truck or suv for a day and move it then it cut it up and pay to weld it back.
