BMW ConnectedDrive car as a Samsung SmartThing?

I have some SmartThings at home and started playing around awhile back because what I wanted to achieve was not possible with the ConnectedDrive app nor the app for my vehicle tracker. What I’m after is a notification on my iPhone when the car has been unlocked and to maybe see what else I could integrate.

I found this device handler:

https://community.smartthings.com/t/...eddrive/122165

I feel it could do much more because it does work, but only just. I’m sure this would be a piece of cake for someone who wanted it and had the right IT skills. Any takers?

For me it would be amazing to have my connected BMWs as “things” so I could use webCoRE and create some rules etc.

I set up my BMW connected drive through Amazon Alexa.
It does similar things as the app which is not all that useful. Lock/unlock, vent, flash lights.

I had enough issues using Samsung SmartThings for my TV.

Google assistant apparently links in to ConnectedDrive, if I recall correctly, but then I also thought I read this was US only.

I'm not a fan of Alexa or google assistant as I've heard some bad reports about listening in hence looking at the smartthings thing as a device

Just as an aside, I have created a smartthings routine through Webcore that when I say a certain command it puts my house to sleep via Siri. This turns off all lights, turns off the Sonos, turns off the heating and then locks all the connected drive cars ... just in case I forgot to.

Works a treat
