Do you know if/how similar this is for G20’s? I have a buddy who lives close by that has a 2021 G20 and he and I have been talking about how he’s unable to do much so he is JB4 currently. He asked if any fo the recent F-series unlock might work on G20.

You know I’m interested already, but I want to get my exhaust situation fixed up first before I consider it.

The new G chassis cars use the next generation of ECU, the Bosch MG1. Currently the only way to have OBD flashing for 06/2020+ MG1 is to get it unlocked by Femto, which requires sending out the ECU to Finland.
Since the ECU is so different than the MEVD17 generation (what F87 has), none of the methods cross over.

Hi guys, does this mean piggybacks such as JB4 will continue to be unaffected by this? I have a 2021 mfg M2C and wanted to see if I can get the JB4.

I assume it’s still an issue that most tuners done have tubes that directly address the M2CS or will they just adapt to the same tuning inputs as the same powertrain in the M3/4 competition?

They may really adapt the same, but it hardly matters. There are nearly no differences between the two. I've tuned both versions.

There are like 3-4 maps with significant differences in M2CS vs. M2C, which simply bump up the power request after 5000rpm; another map that switches the burble sound off via flash settings (vs. the temporary method that can be done via apps or other programs like tool32).

Did some additional research and it seems like 06/20+ DME’s have been added to Alientech Kess3 unlock tools for all tuners.

I’m not sure! I’m sure enabled or someone of more knowledge has the answer. Just a matter of time until someone solves the G8X/Supra ecu and the FraudEMTO unlocks come to an end

Got your messages! I've done many of these now, it's no longer a test. I took it a step further than most and can allow OBD tuning after the unlocking with any of the usual apps people like to use.

It still needs to be done on bench, so shipping me the DME is ideal. I can do it on car too, but I would require the car for a bit and no hot engines.

I remember you saying you were working on a tool we could just plug into the DME and remotely do the bench unlock like you were doing for the pre 06/20 bench unlocks. This way it doesn't have to be completely removed from the tmic. Any head way on that? I'd be willing to give you a deposit if you were willing to ship out the tool and overnight it back to you once we're done.

No headway there yet! I haven't found a way that can be reasonably justified to ship equipment out unfortunately.
