Garage door opener
Ok, I give up. I spent two days researching this and I'm still not getting any smarter.
I have an old Chamberlain garage opener, 315MHz, dip switch code. I also have a 2017 M2 with universal door opener in the mirror. I wasn't surprised that the car didn't work with the old opener, it's old and could use an update. The thing is that I can't find what's compatible with this version of the universal opener in my car. Can someone (preferably in Canada) recommend inexpensive belt driven 1/2hp opener? Thanks |

Actually quite the opposite, it's a super old school one with 315MHz and dip switches for code. I don't mind replacing it to make it quieter and safer. I'm just trying to find what to buy (in Canada) so it will work with my car.

Maybe try adding something like this to your existing door:

What garage door openers you guys have? I'm just trying to avoid spending $300 and not being able to use the button on my mirror. I was looking at this one - https://www.amazon.ca/Chamberlain-B5.../dp/B075CPLC93 but the manufacturers page sucks, they didn't update the list of compatible cars in a long time. |

Anything modern should work fine. I just put in a Chamberlain belt drive with battery backup a year or two ago. Mine is similar to what you linked, but mine is the top power model and has a battery in it.

Thanks ZPrime, that's exactly the information I was looking for.
And thanks omasou, that's exactly the webpage that doesn't have 2 series listed at all I know it's pretty safe to assume it will be the same as other models but I just wanted to know before spending $300 and half a day installing it. |
