If it's possible with someone having personal experience with all 3 OEM, M2 CS, M4 GTS Steering Coding, in some what basic layman's terms give their experience on them. I'm not a complete Muppet just trying to figure out which maybe the better choices for me.

My M2 is my DD with the odd track day thrown in. Tracks I've been on here in the USA are VIR and COTA

Thank you in advance for any input/information

For the traction control (MDM) go into DSC Module

3CODIERDATEN_ALLGEMEIN (DSC CODING DATA GENERAL), 20

C_Variante_Fahrzeug_e (C variant vehicles)

And change this to F82GTS (06)

DCT I wouldn't flash to GTS as it is reported to cause some odd shifting behavior and is added via flash tune, not coding. This would require you to flash the car back to stock before every dealer visit if you care about not having your vin flagged and keeping your transmission warranty.
In F80/F82/F83 DSC (CAFD_00001A33): C_Variante_Fahrzeug_e is switched from Left: F82_CP = 04 to F82_GTS = 06.

In F87 DSC (CAFD_000019CC): C_Variante_Fahrzeug_e, I only see F2x/F3x options with 06 being F31.

Did you also try swapping C_Laenderkennung for US to ECE?

That wasn't the case for me. 06 in F87 DSC was F82_GTS.

Yes I did the euro MDM before anything else. Didn't notice that much of a difference tbh.
The GTS setting on the other hand was night and day.

I just checked another set of files and a different F87 has CAFD_00001A33 & CAFD_00001A2F like F082. Does yours too?

Not sure, my token expired and I haven't been able to reactivate yet so I can't check.

Reading SVT does not require tokens. Are you using Launcher 2.8.2?

After the token expired I deleted the virtual machine I was using (I'm on a Mac) so at the moment I don't even have a copy of windows, let alone the ESYS launcher - which is why I'm unable to provide you with that information.

(My friend told me he'd make me another VM with a working copy of ESYS so I saw no reason to keep the old one)

I just coded the GTS MDM on my M2. I previously flashed BM3 stage 1 and coded custom burble. Now in MDM mode, the burble looks like it has reverted to stock values, whereas Sport and Sport+ seem unaffected. Has anyone else experienced this? I wonder if I need to reflash BM3?

If it helps, my F87 has these codes. I have a 17 with a July 16 build. I did have the software updated recently. Don't know if that makes a difference.

If you don't want to use ESYS then there is this phone app that can also do it:

https://www.thorflasher.com/

You would need to have access to the Dynamic package as a minimum to do that changes - getting a version of ESYS going would be alot cheaper, but more involved.

Problem??

I've sent a couple of messages out, but I thought I would ask anyone with this.

I was coding my DSC module on my M2. After I changed US to ECE and F87 to F82GTS I did the Code FDL function.

I then received the following warnings. Chassis Stabilization, Brake System, and Rear Differential.

Is this par for the course when doing this.

Thanks to all!!

You are going to get error message when coding drivetrain modules.

Did they clear with external transmitter or time?

I haven't had the courage to try yet.

I'll have to wait until Monday to code everything back to ECE and GTS.

The wife has my weekend planned for me!!

When I check "Controls" under my vehicle status in idrive it says all systems okay.

Also, I have ISTA+. Can I use it to clear the messages if need be?

Yes, you can scan with ISTA, Tool32, or E-sys.

If you VO code DSC, ICM or ACSM with factory FA, you will get errors. So, not necessarily invalid coding. Though, can be.

If errors went away on their own, may not need to clear.

Sounds good.

I will try again tomorrow and hope all goes well.

I'll remember not to lose my mind when the warnings come up.

I did not get any errors on ESys, just the warnings from the car showed up on my Idrive screen. I also don't have any warning lights on my instrument panel so far. I don't know if that's because I changed everything back though. I also checked the control section under vehicle status on my Idrive and it says controls ok.

Awesome Dudes!!

I got the courage up to make the Euro MDM and F82GTS changes today.

Now that's how a car should be!! I did press the accelerator in a mildly aggressive manner. I felt like I was 18 and driving my 67 Pontiac Firebird again. It had a 326 with a 4 speed and positraction.

Now maybe a Dinan tune and the BMW DTM wing. Can't decide if I want to go with an AC Schnitzer race exhaust or something else. Definitely something with no valves.

Thanks to Almaretto, Shawnsheridan, and all of you who helped me through this with your kindness and support.

Hey guys, two quick questions.

1) I coded euro MDM years when I first bought the car. When I add the GTS coding, do i keep the euro change or set that back to US? As in should both parameters be changed at the sane time or just the GTS setting?

2) Has anyone tried Thor? And if so are there any issues? And should we code everything back to default before we use it? I wouldn't mind spending a little money to make life easier.

Thanks in advance.

M2 GTS MDM?

Has anyone played with the F87GTS setting for C_Variante_Fahrzeug_e yet? I found the option when I coded the F82GTS option in my 2018 M2.
