So.... I'm an Idiot

and I destroyed the DCT PC board connector on my M2.

I was installing the Carbon fiber shifter knob and I pulled PC Board connector out and all the wires came out.

I am hoping that someone can tell me where I can find a wiring diagram so I can re-wire the connector. Thankfully the wires all came out clean and I should be able to re-wire the connector.

If anyone has a photo of the connector which shows the wires, I just need to know the sequence (color) to re-wire.

I know, I never needed to remove the PC board, but I did and now have no lights on the the shifter knob....

Thank you in advance and please, anyone who is installing the CF shift knob, be careful!!!!!

Could be worse, you could have hit a fox and not be able to get your car back for a month or two... sigh.

Hope you get it fixed.

I would post the area you live in (6' Above Ground is too vague) and see if you can find someone with a DCT M2 and look at how theirs is wired. I am guessing you could dismantle theirs without unplugging the wires. You have learned how to do it ... albeit, you learned the hard way. Hang tough!

Still unable to find a diagram, if you could ask that would be awesome.

Thank you!

Great point!

I guess if someone is going to install the CF knob they could take a pic for me.

Thank you my friend, as you can see from my picture two of the wires remained in the connector so if I can get a pic of the wires I can re-wire.

Thank you so very much this is perfect. I think I can re-wire from this picture. I am deeply indebted to you my friend

You wouldn't happen to have another pic of the 3rd and 4th wires in from the left? They both look white in the pic.

Just from observing all of the pics, it looks like that light pink color is the 3rd from the left and white is the 4th. Like I said, what my eyes see...

Thank you Orangecrush and all who have helped here. Unfortunately three of the micro clips were destroyed and even after getting the wiring codes I was unable to repair the connector.

Looks like I only have a couple of options:

1. Find out if BMW will sell a wiring harness
2. Find the micro clips and repair the 3 terminations
3. Live without lights on my shift knob

If anyone can get a lead on the wiring harness or a parts breakdown with part numbers it would be greatly appreciated. The dealer will sell me the complete shifter (selector switch) for $1040.00 but it probably doesn't even come with the wiring harness, or even the led PC board.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated, I guess the good news is I can still drive the car but i am mad at myself as she's not perfect now (oh and if she gets stolen at night, I bet they won't know how to drive it )

this is the site my friend uses at BMW for part numbers

Have you taken the car to the dealer? If not, you have nothing to loose. Talk to the Service Manager. Explain what happen and ask him for a 'goodwill' repair. You never know what he may able to do or not. Its better than having to purchase the whole unit.

Agreed, you have nothing left to lose and they may take pity on you.

It's worth a shot.

I am not sure the wiring harness to the PC board is included or not. This would be a last resort. Thanks for getting the part number for me though this is a great resource.
