Adaptive Cruise Control Retrofit
Has anyone done it to their M2? I'm pretty certain it will be the same steps found in the F22 models (https://www.2addicts.com/forums/show...0&postcount=20), but thought I would ask before ordering a $250 part that may or may not work.

The retrofit they are discussing in that post is not really "adaptive cruise." When most people talk about "adaptive cruise" they mean radar-based cruise with distance-adjustment.
The US-spec M2 (and I think all of them but not 100% sure about ROW) already has the breaking function (which I believe is what the guy in the 2Addicts post you linked was trying to add). If you set cruise at 60 MPH, and then hard-press and hold the lever downwards (to lower the speed drastically, say from 60->40 in a short period of time), the car will actually apply the brakes itself. It is a little unnerving at first, but once you get used to it you can basically drive without touching the pedals on the highway (if you're using cruise control).

I'm pretty certain that they are discussing "radar" based cruise control as the buttons they are installing are the LIM buttons that you can find in other BMW's that have adaptive cruise control. The pictures missing really makes it sound like he's just enabling the braking feature.
Could be wrong though, which would be disappointing. |

Searching FA codes and what not I think you guys are correct. Dude probably didn't need to retrofit the buttons.
Now we just need to find a 240i that has adaptive cruise control and figure out what options it has and what extra modules if any that it has. |

Euro/ROW cars have different names on their cruise control buttons than we do in the US. I know for a fact they have "LIM" on their wheel and not sure what the other button is... we have "SET" and "RES."
The buttons that adjust the distance on a radar-based system are the other ones, with the parallel "lane lines" and arrows in the center. I've never seen a 2er steering wheel with these on them. There is no adaptive cruise on any 2-series car, AFAIK. Radar module of some sort would be required and I don't believe the bumpers are setup for one. Here's a US-spec F22 LCI - this is the "distance systems" section. Note lack of any radar system.
