Don't listen to any of these folks. The m2 rear seats are definitely too small for kids. Hell, it's even tough to get groceries back there. Might as well get a 718. With that said, PM me with details on transferring your m2 spot over to me.

I traded in the 1 series mostly due to the claustrophobic back seats....
For whatever reason, to me it seems like the M2''s back seats have about 100 times more room than my former 1M. Well, maybe not thatuch bigger but definitely noticable. 5 you and 1yo. We all love it.

I sat back there today just to test it out. Not bad, even for an adult. Tall folks will run our of headroom before they run out of legroom.

No problem at all for kids, and car seats even fit reasonably well.

You guys outside Europe are too accustomed to big ass cars it seems fine to me! I don't have kids but my brother who has two kids (and is not a car guy) lives with a Volvo s40 which is pretty much the same size.

I have four kids (8,6,3 and 18 months) and have estimated that the back seat will be fine for kids in car seats.

I'll know more in a few months when it's delivered. But I figure that most of time kids will just be going short distances with me anyway. If we go long distance it will be in my wife's van.

Fwiw I've had two coworkers both over 6' in my 235 coupe and they fit fine one in the back. Entry egress is a bit of a bitch but once back there it's totally fine. Doubt they'd be happy for hours but for anything under an hour totally doable.

I've had 3 ladies in the backseat for a quick trip and they were fine they complained more about the ride than lack of space.
