Trade in Value thread

Lets see what dealers are giving us on a trade in value for our cars. I'm not planning on trading it in. During the G8X launch at the local dealership, the sales guy really wanted to make the sale so I asked for numbers out of curiosity.

Car: 2020 M2C
Mileage: `12,000
Time of Trade appraisal: March 2021
Trade appraisal: $51,XXX.

Sounds about right. i was just pricing another of my vehicles earlier today and did the M2 for shits and it kicked out a $53k trade-in value. Sounds about right for a 2020 Comp with 8500 miles

Dealer will obviously offer a bit less to have room to negotiate (or make a bigger profit).

I'm never selling my M2 :-)

When I priced out an M2CS at Roanoke BMW, they "sight unseen" quoted me 50,500.

M2C holds a very interesting used car value market. It'll be fun to see where it goes over the years.

Id be curious what I could get seeing as I got an employee deal. If I lost a couple of grand at most over 2 years I cant complain. I love this thing so much. Cant find anything to get rid of it that Id prefer in the price bracket.

You guys are forgetting one extremely important factor... there are as of today only 36 M2C for sale in the USA... this car stop production in 3 months. There are very very few new cars left however this still gives the opportunity of a random guy to say well i can go buy a new one at below MSRP which makes your car not worth it... dealers are using the same trick. That is all over in a few months... This car will stay at 50k for a LONG time imho. Also you should be selling private party... altho I am guessing most here don't actually "own the car" so that makes this ore difficult.

Correct, which is why it's important to get actual dealer quotes, hence this thread.

What's the best way to see all available cars. I am seriously considering one to replace my long gone 135i (year 1 of 1) and current 550ix. Need to wait after finishing taxes.....hopefully not a major $ hit.

Wow, these are great numbers for trade in!
$50,000 USD—even with the stronger CAD today—is $62,000 CAD... or only $12,000 CAD less than what I bought it for brand new. I'm a skeptic, but I don't think that the Canadian dealers would give $62K for this car.

I'll get an appraisal from a dealer for reference.

Best guess for a 2019 with 30,000 miles: they'll likely offer only $40K (or about $32K USD).

If any Ontarians have had a good experience with trading in BMWs to any specific BMW dealers, let me know; I'll drive up to 8h from the GTA.

These are some decent numbers. I'll be very interested to see where the trade in values end up at the 4 year mark when warranties start running out.

I say that because I have zero desire to get rid of my M2C now. But I suspect I will have a different opinion when doing track days with an S55 out of warranty if the G87 is appealing.

I am trading my 6 Speed, 2020 M2 Comp. with 7,3XX miles in on a new 2021 X3M this week and I was offered 51K trade-in.

There was another guy there trading in a M2 Comp. (not sure what year) at the same time I was there. He was getting a X4M.

The dealer said counting our two, they have taken seven M2s in on trade this year already. Most of them were to buy a larger vehicle.

you got 53k for a 2020 M2C, dont think so, if u did its a damn good trade in value and you should jump on it. 53-54 is good trade in value for a 21 M2C with less than 5k miles

If a dealer offered me 53K I'd sell it and then buy another one.
