F8X camber plates/ coilovers on 2017 F87
As the title states- will a F8X ST coilover work on our cars? I was told as long as the front strut towers are the newer 5 bolt design, I'll be ok.
Wanted to confirm with you guys. Thanks! |

Don't know about ST, but I would imagine it is the same as other Coilover manufacturers. I just ordered Ohlins MP40 which was advertised as F8X (M3, M4). Some sellers advertised them as M2 also. The newer Model number is MR41, which fits M2,M3, and M4. Wanted to be sure they would be OK, and was informed by 3DM Suspensions where I ordered them that they would be fine. Also called Ohlins USA and they confirmed that there was a model change to work with all M2,M3 and M4's. They told me the older Stock advertised as F8X would work on my M2. The only difference in Model numbers was they added a few more threads to Damper Body for lowering M2 even further, which I was not interested in.

I'm doing a bit of digging and finding that the camber plates being built into the ST coils could be the primary concern here.
Can anyone confirm if F80 camber plates are interchangeable? Thanks! |

The top plate for the S55 cars is 3 bolt and at a different angle than ours. The plates provided by ST include a mysterious 4th hole that isn't used by any S55 car as far as I know. I broke out the caliper and did some measuring: [IMG][/IMG] Based on this, I'm confident they'll work just fine. Springs may be slightly stiffer but dampening adjustments should help cope with that |

Yeah, this is big news if the XTAs work. I love ST stuff, was bummed they didn't offer it for our platform.
