STEK PPF
I researched this forum and most recommended Xpel.
My local installer offered both xpel and stek at the same price. Googled stek, a Korean (not Chinese) company with YouTube videos showing comparable scratch test results. The guy showed me onsite a Lamborghini fully wrapped with stek, vs a yellow Ferrari that had xpel. Xpel has more of orange peel. Owner of Ferrari is paying him to replace xpel with stek. He uses software to cut all pieces. I don’t know the longevity of stek, but warranty is industry standard 10 years. I took the dive, seeing how his clients with Lamborghini and McLaren opt for the newer PPF. Attached photo shows stek’s hydrophobic coating (i only had full front and rear quarter done). I can’t see a difference with my naked eye the wrapped vs naked portion of my LBB M2C. I will probably update how the film does over time, but just to let others know other options exist. |

BMW paint has a lot of orange peel already so I don't think Xpel looks that bad on a BMW.

I originally wanted Xpel but ended up doing a full wrap of Suntek as well. Installer had a better price on the Suntek and said it was just as good. Did some research and seemed a lot of people were happy with Suntek so I went with it.

I researched all three films. I chose by installer instead of film. My preferred installer used XPEL, so that’s what I ended up with. My second choice installer used STEK.

Yes, would be interested as well. I only had one STEK dealer in my area, but several options for XPEL and Suntek.

From an installer standpoint SunTek adhesive is a bit easier to work with though, more forgiving and easier to stretch. |

M2 had XPEL and had it redone three times b/c the edges kept lifting.
M2C has Suntek. If it matters, Suntek is owned by Eastman. Reading the forum yes it does seem everyone is pro XPEL. Also reading the forums you'd think everyone owns a FS sport cat. Then when people started having problems you see how many people didn't install a sport cat of any kind. Threads can be deceiving. |
