Back with a 2018 Mineral Grey M2
Hello,
After three years away from the BMW family - my last and only bimmer was a 2013 135i coupe - I have decided to return. To be honest, I wish I never sold the 135i. Even if there was nothing special about it - unlike the 1M - I really loved this car. It was special to me and it was the best car I’ve ever owned. It drove great, it sounded great, and it looked great. While I only got it in 2013, I probably fell in love with it in 2008 after watching a video of Chris Bangle - then BMW Design Chief - unveiling it for the first time. Anyhow, my return vehicle is a brand new 2018 Manual Transmission Mineral Grey M2. It was one of the very last new M2s left in the country. Obviously I didn’t get to configure it, but it has pretty much everything I would have chosen and then some. Unfortunately I don’t have proper pictures to share as it is being transported. It should arrive by mid next week so I’ll make sure to post photos then. In the meantime, here is the list of welcome goodies I got:
Once the car arrives, I will get a couple more things done:
Now I just need to find the right song to play for my first driven and I will be all set. By the way, her name is Maya. It's good to be back! Last edited by RWD4Life; 02-09-2019 at 08:51 AM.. |

I second the M Performance Exhaust. Definitely adds character to the car. You will also want to get rid of ASD. Either buy an ASD bypass harness or code it out.

Congrats! People will debate a lot of things on this forum, but one thing everyone agrees on is that the M2 looks great in Mineral Grey.
File this link away, just in case (and no, I have no idea why there's a smiley-face tongue sticking out of the link): https://www.ebay.com/itm/for-BMW-Beemer-2pc-Car-Seat-Belt-Shoulder-Pads-Cover-Carbon-Fibre-Cushion-Black/173733475079?fits=Submodel%3AM%7CMake%3ABMW&hash=i tem2873527307:g:QqwAAOSwhspcLcU8:rk:12f:0 The seat belt anchors are not adjustable on the M2, so where they fall on your shoulders is where they fall. I'm not affiliated with this seller, and there are 1000 other sellers selling these same things. They're cheap, they look fine, and they might make the drive more comfortable. Not all of us needed them, but just in case... |

Here is the list of options. I'll post a better picture of the Monroney sticker once I get the car. To be honest I'm not a fan of the carbon fiber pieces, but it was hard enough finding a car as close to what I wanted as this one is.

Forgot to mention, make sure you let your insurance company know you got the Exec Package and that it includes the Active Driving Assistant. I can't speak for all insurance companies, but Progressive's rate on the M2 is about $100 lower per year just for having that option.

I know it's going to sound weird but I like reflectors that way. Ordered a bunch of other goodies from you guys. More (e.g., M2 floor mat) coming when spring hits the East Coast.
