Michelin PS AS3+ for Autocross?

Hello everyone, I recently started participating in a local Autocross and I am absolutely hooked. The contis that came with the car is really getting worn out and I been looking at replacements (Budget conscious as I want to run a lot more auto cross events, the only thing holding me back is tire cost). I completely understand having a car like the M2 I should be prepared to pay for premium tires like the PS4S, but I guess is it feasible to run PS AS3+? I see a couple of positive reviews for people that daily with the PS AS3+, I'm curious if anyone has done autocross or light track days with them? I'm not concerned with a bit less performance when compared to the stock contis or PS4S as I am still driving the car no where near what it is capable of doing, as long as it has comparable dry performance I think the PS AS3+ makes a lot of sense. Thanks!

I'm assuming higher tread wear on the AS3+ it should fair better. I'm not expecting them to last long, I'm just attracted to the option as it is cheaper than PS4S or stock Contis. If they offer most of the dry performance as something like the PSS or PS4S, sounds like a great deal in my books haha. If it is unusable in autocross that's another issue..

Some tires chunk and will get torn apart. I don't know if AS3+ is high performance enough to avoid this. For cheaper summer tires look at the Conti ExtremeContactSport or one of the off-brand options.

Ah I see that's a good point, I haven't thought that far. My contis definitely gets pretty roughed up. Thanks for the input!
