What exactly about the 2NH brakes that has clearance issues?
I really want to try many wheel options, but apparently the big brakes up front on the Competition models have clearance issues. Downsizing the front brakes to the AP Racing setup is popular, but I do not want to lose the 400mm rotors. I may switch out the calipers for the CCB gold calipers that utilize titanium pistons.
So what part of the caliper does it give issues? Is it so big that the inner barrel diameter of the wheel would come in contact with the caliper? Is it the thickness of the caliper and how far it sticks out depth-wise that doesn't allow wheels to completely bolt on to the hub? Would going up to 20 inch wheels alleviate some of the clearance issues? Thanks |

Yes overall diameter causes clearance issues w barrel. The width needs wheel spokes w wider clearance but less issues from wheels I dealt w than the barrel. It’s pretty tight on 19s. Going to 20 will help of course. The CCB calipers are identical dimensions from my knowledge so wouldn’t change clearance issues
My biggest issue is having to remove the caliper for pad changes… |

This is pretty typical for OE six piston calipers. You generally need the bridge material over the top of the caliper to preserve stiffness, otherwise it starts to impact pedal feel and cause the pads to continuously drag on the rotor after brake applies.
Obviously, it's still a nuisance to get the pads out though... |

Why? 400mm is excessive and just extra weight. The CS Racing uses 380 or 390mm front rotors depending on the config.

For example, a TE37. What part of that wheel will make contact with the caliper first? |

The TE37 is a very flat-faced wheel, and causes issues on many cars (that have tight clearance).
