No updates on the Akra sound? Also will they be making something for cars with no OPF?

My story will go out I think on Monday. I made a really nice video showing the sound track of the slip-on kit. I am almost done with my text and the final video edit, but I have been travelling so much that I haven't had a chance to really finish it all. Manic schedule right now.

In the meantime, we have been testing a lot of new things with regards to the tune of the car. More updates on that as well.

The slip-on exhaust will also be available for cars without an OPF. It will of course sound different from the set up I have on my car since I have the OPFs on my car.

The next step for me is the slip-on and linkpipe combination! That will sound for non-EU and EU cars the same, since it replaces the full system from the cat backwards.

UPDATE: I am releasing the Akrapovic update Sunday at 18:00 CET.

No word, but I think we could say that price tag will be similar as the current M3/M4 slip-on exhaust.

Yup, there price is 4,7K EUR for the M3/M4 one, but I can easily see some dealers offering a nice introduction price with a bit of discount in it.

No idea, I did not have a M4 ZCP next to my car yet. I only heard a normal M2C and mine with the slip-on next to each other.

In the end, the exhaust is as loud as is allowed within the regulation.

Appreciate the detailed description, info and overall update. I can honestly say I love the engineering and work that went into it unfortunately the result is not for me. A full turbo back solution with even more sound engineering would be worth the price "IMO". For an axle back solution it's a nice piece however a deeper tone is what I'll be seeking. Again I appreciate the time you put into this.

Can you hear any more noise inside the car than standard ?

The standard car is far too quiet inside and needs more drama!

The valves open when you move to Sport or Sport Plus mode, but only after you have provided the right kind of throttle input. While cruising the valves close until the driver provides the necessary input and the valves open again.
Is this an Akrapovic feature or is it the same even with the oem valves?

Just epic. As always thank you so much for this. I cannot wait to hear the full evolution system when it is finalized.

Sounds good, but where are the moving shots?

Just weird that there are two stills within the “video”.

A full turbo back solution is in development. The next step is moving forwards getting closer to the turbo and fitting the linkpipe. That will give you a much better idea on how the cat-back system sounds for people outside the EU and for instance in the U.S. Down pipes will follow after that, which will provide you with a full turbo back system. For now it is slip-on first, like many other Europe-based manufacturers. Just give it a bit of time. More updates to come, this was only the second so far. I think we have a few more to go.

Did you read my story on DriveTribe? I said there "The improved sound track is of course a welcoming addition to the standard BMW M2 Competition. I can now finally hear the exhaust inside my M2C. The burbles are much more noticeable and are combined by a more aggressive and bolder sound track from the back. Through the gears there is noticeably more sound inside the cabin. Personally, I would prefer a touch more sound, but for those that just want that bit more experience inside the cabin, this slip-on system is definitely the sweet spot."

Give me two weeks, I am planning more filming as we speak and installation & testing is done this week at my tuner! I hope to know a lot more by the end of the week.

It is a sound video and I did not want to show the world where I filmed by high-speed runs. The police is watching as well. Also it was dark so not much to see...

Just wait until you see and hear the prototype linkpipe Akrapovic made! Pretty decent piece of engineering. X-pipe and a resonator included as well.

Catback, E3,300 if I read that correctly? May be a fair alternative.

Akrapovic muffler and supersprint h-midpipe could be a good option.

Make sure to check the diameter of the supersprint midpipe and that is not smaller than the slip-on pipe diameter.

Depends on the resonator and link pipe that is being used. Those make the soundtrack.

Why bother mixing brands - s/sprint do 2 rear muffler options - Valved or racing - for EU and non-EU M2C

M2C S/sprint H pipe back c/w racing mufflers costs about 50% of akra rear muffler alone !!!
