My SA has the app and adaptor which he uses on his own car. He offed to code mine when I picked it up free of charge. Solid guy. |

You’ve got a cool SA. Not many will do coding, let alone even know anything about it.

Bimmercode Settings
So today I logged in and coded a few things. Car is a manual Pre LCI facelift. Just wondered what cool things people have done or any questions people may have that could be answered here. I would like to have indicator lights on all the time but can't figure out how for example. All comments and helpful suggestions welcome. Cheers fellow Code lovers

Did you ever end up fixing it? How did you get it back on? I have same problem.

I had gotten a software update from the dealer, and that restored everything. This is why I am going with the ASD bypass cable this time.

Hi all - Random question: Do you keep your OBD device plugged in 24/7 or only when doing some changes? It sounds like there is a potential to drain the battery but it would also be nice to have plugged in for quick changes with the exhaust or ASD, etc.

Mine is always plugged. Never had an issue. I have to remember to pull it out before dealer services.

It does not have to be plugged in 24/7. After the codes have been flashed you can safely unplug it until the next time you wish to make changes.

But if you want to use it permanently with an app like Bimmerlink?

Hopefully this has not been asked before, but can it reduce the time to power all off? Have an 18 M2 and after installing a mirrortap into the rain sensor power, after closing the door, it can take up to 14 minutes to power down?

I grabbed power from the auto dimmer in the rear view and it goes off right after you shut off the motor. Might want to change the wire you're tapping to do the same...

Not sure which connector is the auto dimmer but I assume it is the larger one. I did tap into first but was getting intermittent power, so then went to the smaller rain sensor one.

I used the mirrortap kit that comes with 4 pairs of different sized blades - is that what you have as well?

Hey guys maybe a simple answer since this is all new to me but I plugged in the Veepak OBD BlueTooth (BimmerCode now recommends Bluetooth? Unless I'm reading their recommended OBDs thing wrong) and when I plugged it in and turn on Bimmerlink on my iPad (and then later on my iphone--both in airplane mode) it said to connect to the OBD's Wifi network and when I would try to do that I would get error messages on my iPad or phone.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong. I'm sure it's something super simple... |
