You may not have it overseas. Regardless try to create an account here and see if you then can access it via idrive >> https://connecteddrive.bmwusa.com/cd...n?locale=en_US

Still nothing. Did you try your dealer? I would be willing to take the car to Qatar if it means getting this done. Also, I have an M Peformance exhaust that I am selling if you happen to know anyone in our area interested. I’m asking half the price of what it costs brand new. |

It's awful. Don't do it. It's lightyears better than CarPlay in my wife's Q7, but still frustrating. I just disabled it in the M2, and I'm much more satisfied with the behavior of the entertainment/navigation system.

Is there a 3rd party device that is easy/inexpensive to retrofit?
I didn't care for carplay till the recent news of allowing waze & google maps in iOS12.

Just a question for those of you who have your M2's already. Does the carplay FSC USB activation that some people are selling online work on these? I think I will buy the 100 dollar USB port activation and just activate that way. Wanted to see if anyone has tried this yet.

When did that happen?? I added CarPlay just about 2 months ago and got the $300 for a 20 year subscription.

The thing is you need the wifi antenna or the modules as others have listed above. |

What you talking about willis, what kind of shit car company charges a subscription for a feature, there is no legitimate reason for CarPlay to be a subcription, that would be like door locks via remote being a yearly subscription.

Sometimes some of the elitist shit BMW does is quite annoying. I can get CarPlay free on a Hyundai and they have the balls to make you "subscribe". When in reality it is Apple doing all the heavy lifting with the software. |

Sooo the exec package which "includes" Apple CarPlay just means that you get to pay for this "subscription?"
Why can't I just plug my phone in to an aux cable and just do that then?

Which site? I’ve found varying prices everywhere, from as low as 50 bux to 500 bux. Not sure which site is trustworthy.

“An Apple representative confirmed to me that there are no fees to automotive OEMs to enter Apple's Made for*iPhone*(MFi) program, nor any sort of ongoing royalty payments or additional fees related to CarPlay.*“
https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/b...ghway-robbery/ Probably something that Bimmercode could easily provide if inclined. I suspect part of it is that BMW want to encourage use of their own UX. |

What he said. And I'm a full time technologist and use Apple stuff at home pretty exclusively. But iDrive is good enough that I prefer it for several things.
