I have the same car and this will be my setup for this season:

- Ohlins with 70/140 springs
- Vorshlag camber plates
- Essex AP Big brake kit Front and rear (baught used)
- Front mount Intercooler (looking into Wagner Evo3)
- 2nd set of OEM wheels with R888R 265/30F 295/30R
- OEM wheels with MP4S or Indy 500 (street and wet track)
I know my comment said ‘I’ve know those brand to hold up well’ I meant the opposite. Everything I’ve seen on those brands revolves around more frequent rebuilds. Anyone with any first hand experience on them?

And what kit did you go with OP?

Swift Spec R springs. They’re technically for the M4. I talked to a bunch of people most of whom recommended it.

So, a quick update. I've been looking into the GTS coding upgrades with Alex @ Alpine and also spoke to Tyler of 'Tyspeed' fame. I'm looking at getting the following custom coding:

-GTS EPS
-GTS Traction Control
-GTS Differential
-ASD Delete

Ty also suggested that I have Alex adjust the brake software because the GTS coding assumes the car has CCB's.

I'll keep you guys posted on progress and impressions. This could be a huge bang-for-the-buck upgrade.

I've also spoken at length with Ron at Autosolutions and he's building an SSK with some stiffer bushings. Can't wait to get that put in.

So the Swifts replaced the factory springs? You're still using the factory shocks correct?

You have a link to them?

Correct. They are technically spec'd for the M4 but they're being run on the M2 as well.

Bimmerworld TA5R's on the way-Trying to get wheels from 'that other company' was like pulling teeth!

Looks like I'll be going with the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 tires for the first few events.

Good looking car, man. For me, the '18 F87 is the one to get (over the Comp). I don't usually love the gray, but your car looks great, and I like the new wheels.

Massive update in OP! I will follow up soon with some more detail on:

-The AIM Solo 2 DL, which was an incredible investment
-The custom fabbed exhaust (simplify, and add lightness!)
-Dyno from the MHD tune

And more!

Interested in your dyno data - Are you data logging at the track or dyno? Like I explained in the PM, the EVO1 (even Evo2) are 100% absolutely too small for track duty.

Are you still on Stage 1?

I don't have the AIM wired into the ECU yet, so my tune-related data logging is minimal at this time. I have one page on the AIM set to display ECT and IAT so I know if I need to take a cooldown lap.

Here's the dyno with the MHD tune. The stock dyno is in this thread and in the OP:

That's really impressive power for the tune and modifications - but I would strongly recommend you get the datalogger up and running. I suspect that you're slower because you may be down on power as the car heats up.

Also, how does the balance feel with the staggered set up?

It tends to understeer. I think part of the problem is the R888Rs. We’ll see if that improves at all with a different tire. But the plan next year is to move to a square set up, once the alignment is sorted.

Do you have camber plates? BMWs need a LOT of front camber - at least 2.5 degrees in the front, but most guys run over 3 degrees.

Edit: Just checked - you don't.
You're build is awesome, but you're just missing the small things to really help you out. I would strongly suggest you consider having them pull the alignment pins and pulling the camber out as far as you can go (if you don't want to buy camber plates) but changing tires won't help you. You're running on the sidewalls of the tire.

Second edit:

@Zm2 may be able to guide you more - I have a lowly M235i, so my suspension geometry is slightly different.

R888R is one of the slowest track tires I’ve been on. Wasn’t impressed by them.

I’m now running the specs below, but as AmuroRay said it depends on your suspension setup, tires, and the tracks you drive on.

Alignment Specs (deg)-
Track: Front: -3.2, 0.04 total toe in, Rear: -2.1, 0.27 total toe in.
Street: Front: -2.1, 0.10 total toe in, Rear: -1.7, 0.28 total toe in.
OEM: Front: -1.5, 0.16 total toe in, Rear: -1.8, 0.27 total toe in.

Did you notice a huge difference in the rear of the modified street setup vs stock?
