I replied first in this thread but Jason removed it just to let Scott reply first... I'm not as important apparently!

It is a well done render but the lines and proportions is somewhat off and makes it look quite bad. But remember how the M4 render looked and then how the real car turned out and most people will like the real deal later on.

(I know this render is done from a more camouflaged prototype, but it illustrates the "problem")

Looks a little too aggressive up front as others have mentioned, like an aftermarket body kit. However, it's just a render, and I am thinking the actual M2 will be smoothed out.

If no hood dome then at least CF roof! At least an option! If none of these then don't completely drop the ball and not put 1 piece M seats. Don't stuff this up BMW!
There always is negativity on everything BMW does but we have thicker skin.
But we always have to think about progress as well as further potential.
Hey I figure all the haters can enjoy looking at my tailpipes while I blow by them.

Car looks great in my opinion. I hope the haters cancel their preorders so I can get higher up on the list.

M2 for coupe and M3 for sedan are "just right".

M4 seems too bloated for a coupe, IMHO.

Apologies if I'm repeating someone else's comments, seeing this for the first time today and not having read all previous comments - AW may not be the best colour for the render. The vast space in the boot lid area and rear bar takes away from the flared wheel arches when viewed from rear. The front bar area looks jagged and edgy whilst rest of car is rather curvy and sweeping. Mismatched IMO. Nonetheless thank you for this Jason. Here's hoping the final product is a bit more 1M M3 and M4

People really can't handle the purpose of this thread is speculation. I just went thru pages of people being crybabies and criticizing the photoshop like its the actual car. I'm sick

The car wont crank 400+ either. Crank will probably be 365-370. If its wheels get around 340 WHP, that doesn't mean the crank will be 390 hp at 15% drivetrain loss. With all the new technologies with driveshafts, electric steering and modern differentials the loss in driveshaft is NOT going to be 15%. More like 7%, which would make 340 at the wheels, the crank might be around 365 HP, which is rumored. Honestly, saying the F80 cranks 460 HP because the WHP is 400 doesn't make sense. At the M4 you can also count at around 7% loss, not 15%. So 400 WHP in the M4 will give 430 HP, as advertised, and not a lot more. The 15% loss in drivetrain made sense with the huge driveshafts and hydraulic steering, but nowadays with the M4 having carbon propshafts and electric steering, 5-7% makes more sense in a sporty RWD car, and 12-15% in AWD.

I think the proportions are off but the details are there.

By going wilder I take it as body lines would be more prominent and bolder.

The actual car should look much better than the render...

My 135i had stock 344 hp and 480 Nm, and not 302 hp and 400 Nm as communicated by BMW.

Two weeks ago we had a M4 on the dyno which had 495hp at 6,500 rpm + 621Nm at 2,500 rpm.... It was not tuned! Totally stock...

Then why would a 370hp M2 not have more than 400hp? Is the N55 engine so different from the S55 and N54? Does it never show an increase over the stock communicated performance?
