That's right. But then there's always the country's local BMW office that makes the final call.
So it would come to Canada?
Asked and answered.

YES! If BMW Canada wants it.

M2SE. Sport Evolution. With detuned P48. Would be in line with 2002 hommage concept looks.

Adding power only improves acceleration. Reducing weight improves acceleration, braking, turns, everything

Buttt it costs a lot less to throw a bunch of options at a car than trying to market a "driver's car" in 2019. The only car that can ride that wave forever is the Miata, because iconic.
You have no idea how bad I want to supercharge a Miata. Supercharge + retrofit independent throttle bodies in lol

I would think this special edition would have to go into production in 2020 since F87 M2 ends production in 6/21.

I've kinda been thinking about supercharging an FRS/BRZ... that would be really good too.

I cannot imagine that the i4 can compete with the Model 3 regarding dimensions and interior space.
We will see...
It's still an ICE platform and I don't think BMW will/can leave out the transmission tunnel for example.
So I think they need a subframe as an ICE and transmission replacement to support the crash structure.

Under Premium I understand something else!

So that's the end of manual transmission non-m's huh? I guess the Z4 without one was a clear sign of departure

About the only way to get this thing under 3400 lbs and I would have no problem with that !

There are options. If you add in holiday and changeover times you could probably sort it out.

F87 M2 CS 3/20 thru 9/20
F87 M2 Further progress 10/20- 3/20 or .... 3/21-6/21
F87 EOP 6/21

The design and production of the Z4 itself was a clear sign of departure... One that's probably proving far better for Toyota...

The Z4 20i will get 6MT soon, but that one is not available in the US.

Hopefully M2 further progress is announced around the time as M2 CS. I would hate to order a CS and the M2 further progress is announced one month later.

Also I believe M2 CS production dates are 3/20 - 12/20, so possibly M2 further progress production dates would be 1/21 - 6/21.

Convertible

I've searched and can't find it so if I missed it please redirect me, I'm a rookie.
Do we know when the new platform G series 4 Convertible will be available? I see the EOP date in the first post for the F33.

Thanks for the help.

Is US only edition determined mainly by emissions?

Not sure. I know as much as you do. Have you contacted your dealer for further information?

I assume that the US only edition would also include Canada.

Ah yes, I did contact him. He hasn't heard anything. I would think to that if the rumor were true about orders opening after a reveal in September, that they would know something by now. There's been conflicting reports about Frankfurt. Only other option in September would be Goodwood Revival.

Any word on the EOP and LCI SOP for G05?

I can sort of guess from G01 and G07, but it's nice to have a confirmation of a more accurate date.

Thanks for a great post. I always check this from time to time.

Below no proof of an F87 M2 CSL in the works, but at least a sign of preparation by BMW for a 'just in case' scenario (source: WIPO public website - here):

Between this and the reference to the additional special model, I'm thinking there will be a CSL...I am hoping against hope it can be a 3000 lb, 450ish hp 4 banger screamer

The recent cancellation of 6GT in the U.S. is a good example why I never claim to know which exact models will go on sale and how long they will remain on sale - on the production side, 6GT LCI was making progress for all current markets as recently as a couple of months ago. Engineers create things, and then managers decide which of those things to sell.

^^^ The interesting thing about the F0x/F1x 6 Series ending was that it exposed just how few 6GTs were being moved in NA. It couldn't even manage to match the i8's sales volume in at least one month this year.

I've seen it reported that the 3GT was also killed in the US at the end of MY2019.
