is this stock vs stock and same transmission on both?

If so and this isn't a case of driver mod, the cs seems rather crippled stock. It should be eating the z4 alive

wish they'd put this kind of effort into making the B58 a viable BMW platform in it's first 3 years, I'd have held onto my m240i if it had been pushed to that kind of level (and could fit decent sized tires). I assume that time was on DR's

They'd get smoked!!!

The n54 was decent but can't match the power curve of the new b58

B58 is a Uber Fantastic Engine.

I was torn to go with a M240i before buying my M2.

It was the complete package that made me choose M2 over M240i.

I'd much prefer the OGM2 came with the B58 engine, but Gen Two M2 will make up for it.

The S58 is a bloody Monster, as it's already been shown in the newly released BMW X3M/X3MC.

I saw the new Supra recently at a local Toyota dealership. This was my first time seeing it in person and I have to say that it looks awful. Just pure disaster in terms of looks alone.

Of course this is very subjective and there will be those who like it, but frankly I don't quite understand how anyone - who considers the M2 to be a good looking car - can possibly think the Supra looks good. The proportions are more terrible in person than they are in photos. The car is overly bubbly and gives the impression of being too short and cartoonish-looking. It's definitely not going to age well.

It may be a great car on paper and even on the track, but it's still ugly as hell. I don't see how anyone over 30 can be taken seriously in one of these. But to each his own.

I'll be 39 this July and I quite like the style of the GR Supra from certain angles in certain colors. In fact, I think I like it from every angle in person in red. I also really like the M2C. Looks like more of a European muscle car than a sports car IMHO, but a classy one to be sure.

That said I can totally understand not liking the Supra styling. It's about as busy as the Civic Type-R. Which is a car that definitely throws out a boy racer vibe.

Saw it in person and i really think it looks unique and good except for the front bumper which i think can be modded out at some point.

M2 should be 3200 pounds, not 3600 pounds. There are M4s lighter than the M2 Comp.

I'd buy the Toyota if they give it the full M treatment and add a stickshift option. Wouldn't even take me 2 seconds to decide...

Pointless waste of time whenever YouTube jockeys get involved. Here's another video where the Zupra clearly runs out of steam:

Both are close, but only one is a true BMW ///M car that isn't for boi racers.

This is what I would expect stock vs stock.

not really pointless. they stated they were only allowed to race to 300m

this one was 800m and the supra was infront most of the way making that Malaysian or Singaporean comparison the same as this one so not sure how this one isnt a waste of time and the other one is - especially considering 400m is a quarter mile and ive never been to any drags that have been a half mile...

Frankly, id say the M2 shouldve done better over 800m than it did, considering it has a whole additional turbo, but not much you can do.

I think this test is not true. These guys seem like amateurs to me and seen plenty of vids where the m2 wins....

Looks like Supra is faster off the line. The Toyota suspension and tire package is better for drag races. The M2 pulls ahead first but the torque on the Sopra allows it to be ahead at 100 meters but then the top end horsepower on the S55 allows the M2C to score the win

This race is more decisive than the other one. I think the first video the road surface was really bad and may have given the Supra an advantage if it was better in that lane.

M2 is obviously under tired stock... Can't put the power down. Reason the Supra feels so fast off the line is the ZF8. Short gears and immediate torque make it feel like a rocket up until about 60-70, then it starts dwindling. The S55 powered M2 on the other hand, pulls hard in almost every gear.

Drag race doesn't tell much. Let's see which one handles be... oh

I wonder how much more fun to drive a manual A90 supra would be vs an M2 manual

Let me explain, since you didn't understand first time. With YouTube jockeys, it's easy to find conflicting videos as I have. I wasn't saying what I linked was the ultimate result, but it shows a different and more credible result also given that it was conducted on a race track by staff of a car magazine with proper data acquisition tools... not just cameras laying on the ground filming 2 clowns.

The M2 does extremely well as is - considering the bigger size it is, with 2 extra seats and trunk.
