Simply put best described
Thanks for the great insights. Just a thought but i believe you can enable a creep program for the DCT. It was in the manual for 30 anniversary m5 so it should also be possible for the transmission in the M2c.

Can you? I think the only way to "enable" creep on a DCT in the M2/3/4 is to just slightly tap the gas. But there is no setting like in a Tesla that lets you turn it on at all times.

neat you have both OP
I came from a B7 RS4 to my 18 M2 naturally looked at the RS3 - lack of fender flares and the dinky looking rear brakes blew it for me

Easy but fast, everyday car that makes a good noise and is practical - Audi. It will stop feeling special after a few months though and acceleration gets boring. It is the absolute "PlayStation" car that people refer to. Special, fast, drivers car that takes months to learn and is rewarding and can be had in a manual but only has 2 doors - M2. You'll still be enjoying it and getting to learn it years from purchase. Will you be left at the lights by RS3's? Probably. But you'll be grinning every other time. |

Thank you for the detailed comparison review, good read.
One thing I would disagree, M2 / M2c comes with the traditional mechanic handbrake, wins over the electric parking brake at any day. NOTE: I just don't understand why VW Audi Porsche make it a new norm by putting electric parking brake into performance oriented models, e.g. Golf R, RS 3, Cayman GT4, 911 GT3 (except the 911 R?). Is this the right thing to do? I don't see any other Japanese car manufactures do this (except Supra).

Good review
I've had both a manual 8V S3 and OG manual M2 and did a lot of testing in the auto RS3 and I would summarise it like this: Weekender or track car = M2 hands down Daily driver if in high traffic areas or wet/snow = RS3 Daily driver if in good weather or low traffic areas = M2 Basically it is analogue (M2) vs digital (Any Audi) - if you want driving feedback and rewards for skilled driving then the M2 all the way. If you want traffic light grands prix and point and shoot speed get the Audi. Just learn to live with understeer when you hit a corner... |
