Whistling Sound around 60mph

Hey guys. I routinely get a whistling sound when driving between 50-60 mph. Its always there around 60mph, and appears to be coming from the engine area (not wind related I think). Goes away past 60, and not there below 50mph. Anyone else hearing this?

Thanks

Do you have PPF by any chance? Could be an edge that came up.

Do you have any aftermarket parts on the car?
Do you have a sunroof? - if yes, make sure it is fully shut
Are all of your windows closed? - you may have your passenger window not fully shut

No aftermarket, have noticed this from day 1. All windows shut. No moonroof

Inspect your wipers, make sure they are flat on the glass and all the way down in their resting position. Also make sure the blades are fully clipped into the wiper arm and feel solid.

Clean the rubber seals around your windows. Dirt gets stuck to the rubber and it doesn't seal against the glass. (Air leaks and whistles)

Had this happen years ago on a BMW near the corner near the mirror.

I'll check this out and the wipers, but the car is brand new (month old, manufactured in October) and garage kept. Thanks

No mirror caps
Window seals clean
Wipers clean and flush
Whistle happens at 55-60 mph. It's sounds like a mechanical whistle from the engine bay

Its weird, and I'll bring it up at break-in service

At the risk of sounding really stupid, as I have never driven a M2 Comp let alone seen one in person, could you be hearing the turbos?

Hey Kutta, My car has the same issue. I hear a whistling noise when Im driving between 128-131 km’s. I’ve been hearing it since day one. I think its coming from the center speaker area in my car. I’ve taken my car to the BMW dealership twice for this. They were able to replicate the noise but were not able to fix it. They wanted to take the whole dash apart and see if they can diagnose it. I didn’t want them to take the dash apart so I declined.
Anyway, let me know if you find a fix to this. I do have a video of that noise but I don’t know how to upload it.

Could the "whistling" be actually more of a high pitched ringing? My 230i does this and i found that its a grounding issue with the LED headlights and the noise goes away if i turn my headlights totally off (no DRL or anything). Didnt bother trying to get this fixed as i'm trying to trade in for an M2C soon

I get a "whining" noise, not necessarily a whistle. Sounds like it's either the tranny or diff, cant't tell. It's intermittent, and I can only hear when I am ~25% on throttle. Not concerning enough for me to take it in.

That's the twin superchargers we have to supplement the twin turbos, for when the cylinder deactivation kicks in for our V12's.
