They just announced support for N and S55's a week or so ago. I've been speaking with a tuner who I trust, and once I get my methanol kit setup I plan on making the switch from BM3 to ECUtek. On the fly map changes and the ability to utilize the flex fuel functionality to make a really elegant meth safety is why it's so appealing to me personally
Edit: it should be noted that both BM3 and MHD are end user focused tuning solutions. ECUtek is a tuner focused solution. So it's all about finding a tuner you want to work with and having them dial everything in to your liking VS flashing maps yourself. |

In the last day or two I've done some research. Most of the ECUTEK guys I've found specialize in Nissan. There's a master tuner an hour and a half from me that will do the N55 but every video on his site is of Nissan. In addition if you want to go back to your stock tune you have to bring it back to the shop. They're about twice the price of BM3 if you want the option to data log. They're tune triggers a flash count also. I've pretty much talked myself out of using them. The only positive thing I've found out is that they dyno before and after and use the dyno to dial your car in.

Just to play devils advocate... With ECUtek you can save 4 maps in the DME and recall them via the cruise control buttons. So if you make one of them your stock map you can recall it whenever you want. You can also remote tune just like with any other platform so you don't need to use the closest tuner but any ECUtek tuner. Also, if the worries about flash count are for warrantee reasons you'll be disappointed to know that even MHD and BM3 can be detected if BMW really looks into it.

Ecutek imo is the best at this current moment especially with the new racerom, flexfuel, and with their new flexray canbus hub allowing for inputs into the ECU.
Also yes it's available for the m2, it's available for all F series n55's if I recall correctly.

I would just look at their track record as a tuner. Do they have a good reputation in their respective communities? Also, for example... I know that Bend Calibration teamed up with an already established BMW tuner specifically to work on BMWs . So just because they as a company haven't tuned BMWs before doesn't mean they're starting from scratch.

From what I've read, he's very highly regarded in the Nissan circles. |

He has access to pretty much every tuning platform and uses ECUTEK on his own stuff. That's good enough for me.

Any update on this ? Just curious how happy you are with the overall result. We're on the fence between EcuTek and BM3 (Jordan tune).

It's taken me longer than expected on this. The time delay is totally on me though, not Ian. He's been very fast with his correspondence. I've got the software loaded on my lap top and ECU is unlocked. Last weekend I did my first log on stock software and sent it off to him. He wants more data so I need to add a few other parameters (easy), log and send back to him. Again, the length of this process has totally been on me. Holidays, traveling and work have prevented me from playing with it. Once I get what he wants, he immediately gets back with me. I'm planning on logging again tomorrow or Sunday depending on the weather.
