I purchased a kit from our good friend above but then due to converting all my suspension components to SPL adjustables, there is no longer a nice rectangular-section lower arm to secure the scoops to.

I therefore never installed the kit, and I would be happy to re-sell to whomever wants. I also purchased some quality SCAT tubing that I would include for a full set-up.

If you’re interested, please drop me a PM and we can work something out.

I ran into the same problem with the SPL lower control arm installed. Is there a solution for this?

Just wanted to let you know that I cancelled the Prusa XL because I got tired of waiting (15 months now) and bought a Bambu Lab X1 Carbon Combo instead. The good news is that I'm back to printing and getting to know the printer. I will soon take orders again but I have to crunch the numbers first. There will be a slight price increase but all metal parts will be painted and hardware (stainless hose clamps, bolts, nuts, washers and zip ties) will be included but not the hose. I will offer the kit with 2" or 2,5" fittings and the backing plates will come pre-assembled. I will also make a small design revision of the air guide to direct the air a bit more towards the center of the disc.

The printer is a sweet machine so far, love it!

One of the first test prints and it will improve quite a bit.

I can start the printer from home or from my phone now as soon as I get an order for faster delivery.

I'll make an update in a few days when I know more. But the printer is runing pretty much all the time.

I've looked over the numbers and the new price for a complete kit is 380$ and with the added 30$ you get all hardware such as bolts/nuts/washers/zip ties and all metal parts come painted and the backing plates are pre-assembled and ready for install. The first 5 who order a complete kit will recieve an additional bonus consisting of meshes and winter covers or intake enlargers (no it's not what you think it is you pervert lol).

On the contratry to what I said earlier about the hose clamps, those will not be included. The reason is that a package to the US cost about 22$ if it's under 2 kg, if I add the hose clamps (6x stainless hose clamps weigh a bit) I'm not sure I can squeeze the package under 2 kg and an up to 3 kg package cost 50$. The added value will be lost so I think it's better you buy hose clamps separately.

Also I made a small redesign of the air guides to more effectivelly guide the air towards the center of the rotor. Red is the old and green is the new. Just have to verify on my car that it doesn't hit anything, but I think it will work.

Great to see this coming along. Will this work with AP 9660 fronts and 378x36mm discs on an OG M2?

Could you please explain how you would run these on the street when not on track? Remove hose or just insert intake blocks?

I suspect it would fit, because with the AP kit you remove the dust shield and these kits slot right in where the dust shield used to be. However it's not a full dust shield so you don't have to worry about caliper interference. They also duct air towards the hub and that's were the hat should be on any rotor that fits the f8x chassis so it should work just fine in that regard too.

Ok the street I believe you'd just put the little cover onto the scoop and zip tie it on and you're done.

The backing plates will fit just fine, however I don't know the offset on the AP discs compared to stock so the length of the bolts might have to be modified. But nothing else.

I will make a blocking plate for those who want to cover everything up, for whatever reason, but it's fine runing the cooling kit all the time. I've had my kit installed for 1½ years without an issue, but the M2 is only used 6 months every year.

I test fitted the re-designed air guide yesterday and it caught a little at full droop of the suspension and full lock. I will adjust the cut out a little even if it's unlikely someone would be in that situtation (full droop/lock) and if they would the knuckle catching the air guide slightly would be the least of theirs problems.

That's awesome you're testing in all possible scenarios! Good stuff man.

Any chance you would offer the backing plate with a smaller hose intake (2”) which would work perfectly with m3/m4 gt4 front bumper brake ducts?

As promised, covers for the control arm ducts for those who want to leave them on for winter driving. Holes in the center of the cover to secure the cover onto the duct with a zip tie, the cover itself will fit snug but the zip tie is for 100% secure fit. Relief cuts for easier removal. 30$/Pair.

"Enlargers" for the ducts for increased air flow, guides on the back side for a snug fit and 100" secured with the same zip ties as the control arm ducts. 50$/Pair.

Some closeup pictures of what kind of finish to be expected (good or bad is up to the beholder). Overall I think the finish of the duct is very good, the rough parts are a result of the use of support which is a must to print the ducts the way they will be the strongest. But the rough parts won't be seen anyway and won't reduce the function. Printed in Bambu Lab PETG.

The re-designed air guides printed in Bambu Lab PETG.

2,5" funnel for the backing plate printed in Bambu Lab PETG. I've put a lot of time into getting a nice and even finish on these, even if no one will ever see then after they are installed.

2" funnels printed with my last roll of HD Glass (won't use it again when the roll is empty) and I haven't gotten to the level of finish I have with the Bambu Lab PETG but I'm getting there. Nothing wrong with the function though.

The new addons, the enlarger and the cover. Will make a slight improvement on the cover as it didn't sit as snug as I wanted even if the zip tie would hold it in place nontheless.

Ok, this is looking way too cool not to try a set.

Question: Why not build the enlarger into the original part and then have blocking plates for that single piece?

Also curious if you have any specs for the hose and clamps, and basic install instructions.

Thanks.

The reason why the enlarger isn't built into the duct is a matter of printing, I need to design the parts in such a way that it prints nice and won't risk runing into issues while printing. Could I make it a one piece? Yes. Do I prefer it? No.

The hose need to be 70-80 cm long per side (depending on routing) and the hose clamps 60-80 mm (50-70 mm might work). I have instructions how to install the kit and it will be included with the purchase.

This is how the backing plates will be delivered now, these are the ones I sent out to Uncle Ben here on Bimmerpost last week.

Got it. Could you PM me transaction info and cost for the full kit with blocking plates and enlargers?

If you’re at the Ring this weekend, you could just hand them to me since I’m racing in the NLS race.
