M2 CS Exhaust....way too quiet?

Hey guys! Just got my M2 CS today...BSM/6MT/GLD (Cup2)/Steel brakes. Car looks the absolute business....but I am so disappointed by the sound. I had an M2C before this and it was WAY louder, including pops and bangs. This is supposed to be the more hardcore model, why is it so quiet? Are the US cars getting the OPF now too? I did look in ETK and the part number for the CS muffler is different (center section is the same) I checked and the flaps are open in sport plus....

Nice spec . The guys doing the work on my car thought the CS already sounded much better than most S55 equipped cars. I still thought it sounded like trash, but they've heard more of them than I have. I prefer it quiet after my last car, which was not quiet.

I did not think it was at all quiet. Much much louder than the MPE on my F30. It was also shockingly loud when running out under an overpass. Additionally a friend said he heard me a block before I got there and I didn't even cross 4k or half throttle on approach.

I agree with the OP. It is significantly quieter than the MPE on my 2020 M2C. It needs to be louder. I only have 130 miles on it though. The MPE on my comp took about 2000 miles to sound awesome. I'm not sure if the 1200 mile service on the CS "unlocks" some sound or power either...maybe?

On my M4 I was able to unplug the valves when they were fully open to keep them open all the time. This made a huge improvement in sound, especially on cold starts. I would imagine this is possible on the m2, isn't it?

Just out of curiosity, did you install only the Slip-On silencer or the Evolution link pipe too?

Yeah... and illegal 👎. Not sure why people keep suggesting to "just remove the OPF" when it is illegal and will void your insurance. God forbid you are ever involved in a fatal accident, you'd be sent away for a long time. Sorry to be 'that guy' but it's frustrating that the only 'good' option is to play with fire and people just casually promote it.

What means illegal ? Do you drive your car legal then ? Do you keep the speed limits? if you can just drive and hear nothing just do it. i could not drive and hear ''nothing'' . Sound is very important for some people. F**k the warranty and insurance, better if the car has a problem now which i am in warranty than then when i ll be out , because i would do it for sure . thats why i did it from now. its a very important part of the driving experience that sucks not because of BMW but because of regulations. OPFs and DPFs are parts that makes the turbo hotter , and in some 80k km need to be replaced because of gases stuck there etc. There is no option , i wanted the car to be and look stock , i didnt wanted to change the rear muffler , i love the exhaust tips , and didn;t like to change the muffler. the cs racing has the same muffler , but deleted the opfs and downpipes. Sounds great. So if you fear about insurance - which by the way here insurance has nothing to do with this kind of things , its just the warranty that is affected and again , it depends on your relationship with them.

Does the valve close on the M2 CS exhasut every time the car stands still? I'm used to the valve staying open as long as I'm in sport or sport plus, but I don't hear the opening until I move.
