Misano Blue and black wheels, Manual transmission and Cup2 tires if they are a no (or low) cost option. No CCB's for me; too rich for my blood and I don't really see the benefit for the very high cost. Planning to do European Delivery and hopefully if I can swing it without getting fired , will drag that out for a 3 week extravaganza!
Advanced congrats? Did the dealer jack up the price on you?
On a side note, I was curious to what Ford stealers are charging for the Mustang GT500:MSRP+30k .

Me! All things considered, the last of the real M built in Germany (All will be built in mexico i believe starting 2021.)

Manual gear box. Factory warranty, out of the box, fast enough to keep up with everything not names a super car, and handles like a dream. I have an OG M2 with a 6 speed. Did Euro delivery on my first and doing it for the CS.

I thought this was a good article that tries to articulate the impact of BMWs hush hush magic that goes into the CS.

Just read a Tesla rumor about model 3 with 100kw battery and Ludacris mode. Would likely place is cost in CS territory. Electric is the future, but when is it time to make the jump??? Just food for thought.

Not sure its the electric motor, or Tesla?

I mean, I would take a Taycan in the blink of an eye if I could remotely afford one . . . but I cannot even bear the thought of owning a Tesla.

I know, pathetic and petty . . . but I just like the tradition of the German sport cars.

I guess I will be willing to turn the corner when Porsche or BMW tell me I have to do so.

I see logic in what you speak. The lure to go electric now is strong, but I still feel that it is too early. Significant strides will be made over the next five years. I suspect significant strides in battery tech.

As you know, there is SOOO much more to performance and sport car enjoyment than the 'engine.'

I am speaking out of my ass because I have never driven a Tesla, but I just cannot imagine they remotely offer the driving experience of my 718 CGTS . . . or your future M2CS.

Agreed, that's why I haven't bought a model 3 performance. There's plenty of time to enjoy the electric revolution. Not so much for the current crop of driving machines. Just look at how the loss of hydraulic steering has impacted the enthusiast. I do believe the current M2 generation n55/s55 is another stepping stone where generations after will speak of more "feel" being lost similar to how the 1M is being discussed.

GT500 looks really nice. The only negative that I read about, in my eyes, was that the interior was difficult to discern from GT. That would turn me off, but man, beautiful car.

Answer is when there’s no other choice and all the ICE options are gone. Aka, not now. Let the Tesla folks have the 1/4 mile fun (yes, it’s very fast) but relish in the fact that you’ve still got other options.

If I had $150K to spend on an electric car, the Taycan seems pretty awesome.

If I had $200K to spend on an electric car, the Tesla Roadster looks fun. . . but nowhere near my budget. 0-60 in 1.9s is sick.

Odd they call it a 'roadster,' as I'm not sure its suited for the 'road?'

Conversely, not sure how well suited it is for the track either? Looks plenty capable, but not aware of any Tesla track history? For example, brakes, suspension, handling. . . etc.

For daily/spirited driving in the wild within my budget, I'm sticking with German ICE sport cars for now. . . electric variants as advances are forced upon me by the German manufacturers.

The carbon fiber roof on some of the other F8X models appears to have some peeling issues in warmer/sunnier environments

I wonder if that's why they changed the weave/design?

I think the peeling that you're talking about has mostly to do with the resin that covers the CF. You can't expect resin to last like car paint. Many CF roofs get garage treatment. I don't think they'd do so well in the Florida sun 365 days a year.
