Thanks y'all for the input, going with 30% front/rear windows and 15% in the back. Will update with photos.

Not a CS but you can gauge the tint % against the Hockenheim Silver

20% Llumar ceramic film in a carpark

If going on looks for my taste. I think somewhere between 25% and 30% would be good. 20% is a bit too dark and 35% is a bit too light. I would have gone a little darker if I would have been willing to run into inspection issues. 35% looks good though. I'm not a tint nut. I was doing it for a little added thermal protection, but the extra asthetic was a nice touch.

Xpel Prime Plus

https://www.xpel.com/shop/window-fil...ve-window-tint

Fronts 35%
Rears and back window 30%
Windshield 70%

I went with the lighter tint on the front windows for two reaons:

It's legal in Md and they only test the front windows

Some factory cars ( I don't think ours ) have lighter tint on front windows and I wanted a similar look but a little darker.

What's the upcharge for nano to nano IR? I didn't even consider the IR for my needs, but curious. I'm certain it's peanuts compared to what I spent altogether. Extra $100-200? I spent $400 for all windows.

I would guess $200 ish. I don't ask price questions, I just let him to his thing and close my eyes when it comes time to pay the bill.

I just said to put on what you recommend. I assumed it was the highest end film, but then realized it was middle ground. I learned that they are very particular about the tint color and how it performs beyond just tint. (Whatever that means) Some tints are also not offered in all tint levels like 35, 30, 25, 20, etc. I'm with you. I don't expect poeple to tell me the best way to do my job, so I let poeple do theirs.

Mine is in with the same detailer as Mike (ptgltw). Going Xpel XR Plus all around (70% windshield, 55% sides/rear). This should be really good film. It better be, at more than a thou large installed.

In Australia, I don't find it necessary all that often to tell people 'how' to do their job; sadly though, it is often the case that I have to ask them to actually do their job.

I went with:

Xpel Prime Plus

Windshield 70
Door Windows 35
1/4 and rear glass 30

I'll try to find a better pic but I think it goes with the BSM quite well

This is 55 on all windows and 70 on windshield. I've had a lot of 20 cars; I must be getting old.

With a car like yours, you don't get old, just older
