Well, I changed my mind. I have two friends recommending a local installer (7 cars between them including AMG GT, 718 Spyder and 718 GT4) and I went to meet with him. I just payed a deposit and scheduled for the week if 2/8.

Full paint correction, full XPEL PPF, full Fusion+ ceramic coat including glass, full wheel-off package includes front and rear of wheels and calipers. $7k out the door.

I will sell the e30.

Can I change my status? I went from full front to nothing to now full shebang

I got 2 small rock chips on my rear quarter right about the factory protection and that did it for me. Full wrap coverage we go. Custom install no kits. Windows, coating, sidemarker delete, rear marker delete, painted side skirt install and more.

I think a cocaine habit would be cheaper

Rand over some stone debris on the way to Costco. Truck must have lost some coming out of landscaping facility. I was really glad I have full PPF. Not that I think I would have received damage, but just peace of mind to that I didn't have to worry about it.

Down-selected my detailer tonight (greatly appreciate the referral, Mike!) and dropping the car off tomorrow. Full wrap in XPEL Ultimate Plus, full ceramic coat with wheels in Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra, window tint all around. With more than 250 miles on the car now, anxious to get the protection in place.

**LOVE** this car!!!! We've gotten to know each other, the kid gloves are coming off (within the limits of break-in), and it's just a perfect plaything. Magical combination of the familiar (instruments, driving position, feel of a high-performance BMW 6MT) and the very special (handling, nimbleness, acceleration through the allowable range of revs). No buyer's remorse here lol. Car for life.

Does the PPF wrap under or around the carbon side grilles? Did they have to remove them?

Beautiful - what I have to look forward to when mine comes back in a week! Except for the wheels, those are beautes. Thinking similar for winter wheels next year .. something to contrast with the golds for 3 months a year.

What kind of ceramic did you go with?

Ceramic is Gtechniq Crystal Serum Light & Exo. Supposedly a 5 year protection.

Same here. Except it's coming with a 9-year warranty - you might want to check on that with your detailer. Excited that we have same treatment on MB paint .. because yours came out fantastically.

Brett uses a different product from the same company. Top of the line coverage. Nothing wrong with their other products but they have shorter warranties.

The CS Ultra does have a 9 year warranty, but as I understand it, if it ever needs to be removed or refinished, you have to go down to base paint and remove all the clearcoat. Which is not the same with CSL.

Not a big deal if you're doing it on PPF, but makes me hesitant to consider doing it directly on paint.
Any recommendation or more knowledge about this would be appreciated.

It's like asking if the dealer can plug in your iPod cable into the USB port and placing a bottle of water in the cup holder. It's that easy.

Apparently it needs to be wetsanded off. I don't blame you for not getting it applied directly onto paint surfaces. An expert wet sander isn't easy to find.
