M2 CS delivery - USA (BSM - 6MT - 2NH - BLK 763M - PSS)

A little late with my delivery posting...I took delivery on Tuesday, January 5th. Also...yes the dealer did not the remove the shipping blocks, so the car is sitting too high in these initial pictures. I did remove the shipping blocks the next day, so all is well.

Little back story...this car was ordered by someone else that put a deposit down around February 2020. This was my dealers only CS allocation. Unfortunately, Covid impacted the original buyers business so he had to back out before it arrived at the dealership. I have been doing business with this dealer for over 20 years, and they let me know it was coming in. I honestly had no idea what an M2 CS was, as I had an order in for a '21 Corvette...and the C8 was all I was interested in. Although I have been a die hard BMW homer for over 20 years, I hadn't purchased a new BMW since 2005. Owned plenty since then, just not new. However, once I realized the significance of this model, plus the limited production...I definitely stretched my original self-imposed budget and decided to purchase this M2 CS before it arrived at the dealership.

Impressions after a couple hundred miles? Wow. Amazing. BMW freaking nailed it with this car. I am 6'8", 275lbs and this car is so comfortable and seems to fit me perfectly. The seats are very comfortable, the seating position is just right. When I first felt the clutch action I was worried....it was a bit abrupt and springy. But within a few miles, I realized this car was easier to drive and had the easiest clutch modulation of any other manual BMW I've owned...and that's been a lot. The steering wheel is definitely not too fat for me...it feels perfect. Ride quality (now that the shipping blocks have been removed) is excellent....very well damped and never uncomfortable. Power wise, I have kept it below 5k RPM and no full throttle yet...but I can definitely tell the power reserves are there and waiting for me once I hit the 1200 miles and have the break-in service performed.

My pictures aren't as good as others that have been posted, but here it is.

Amazing! Glad you finally got it! Looks great with the black wheels - very happy I spec'ed those too.

Did they forget to remove the shipping block or did you tell them not to? They usually do that during PDI so I'm curious to know.

CF roof doesn't bad either, minor bunching...

Enjoy it bud!

Congratulations on the new ride and welcome to the club!

Car looks amazing. I have to second what Momo said about the black wheels. I seriously don’t know what people’s fascination is with the frozen gold wheels at all (sorry Subi lovers). Is it because it’s something new and different than black?

Enjoy!

Thanks! If I had been able to order the car, I would personally have chosen the frozen gold wheels, as I am not a fan of black wheels at all. But, I do like these...plus with the cost of the gold wheels, I can like them forever!

They just didn't remove them...they didn't notice the sticker on the drivers window telling them they were there I guess. They don't sell many M cars, so they were likely not familiar with the process.

When I saw the car initially upon delivery, I commented more than once about the ride height and asked...'Are the shipping blocks still in there?' It rode VERY stiff and the rear end was extremely bouncy on the way home, so I knew something was wrong. As soon as I pulled up to the house my wife came outside and said 'it is sitting way too high!' I wasn't upset though...they just tried to get it prepped asap so I could come pick it up, as I had already been at the dealership the week before and paid for it in full.

AFAIK, all BMW come with shipping blocks regardless of it being an M or not - they completely missed it. Concerning yes, but you finally have your car and noticed right away so you dodged a bullet there. The dealer should have really removed them straight away.

Yes...I consider it to be a part of it's uniqueness and individuality...so it doesn't bother me a bit!

Doesn't look bad at all. I'd be ok if mine came like that.

I've really started looking at the roof as a unique enhancement because it's likely no two cars will be the same.

Freckles or no freckles, doesn't make a difference.

I don't know what the fascination is with ice-cream either yet millions seem to love it

Black is nice in the right settings as is gold right in the right settings

One of 7 ish in that combo. I have your twin. Congrats and enjoy in good health!

PS: Make sure you tell your dealer their pre purchase inspection needs a little help.

I love the black wheels and red calipers - my favorite combination. Beautiful looking car. Congratulations
